Elephant Poached and Disemboweled in Wildlife Sanctuary Deserves Justice

Target: Ohn Win, Minister for the Myanmar’s Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation

Goal: Punish the poacher who killed and disemboweled a 20-year-old elephant.

An elephant was shot four times and disemboweled in Myanmar’s largest and oldest wildlife sanctuary. The tusks had been removed, indicating that illegal poaching had been the motivation. Demand that the poacher behind this horrific cruelty is brought to justice.

A villager stumbled upon the unfortunate remains of the 20-year-old elephant at Alaungdaw Kathapa National Park, a known ecotourist site, and immediately contacted authorities. An investigation showed that the animal had been shot in the head, and three other times throughout the body, likely while drinking water. The tusks were then removed, along with the toenails and the internal organs.

This park, which covers 160,500 hectares of intact tropical forests and hosts a Buddhist religious heritage site, provides a safe haven for wildlife of many kinds and poaching is strictly prohibited. Sign below and demand that the person behind this horrific cruelty is prosecuted and punished to the fullest extent of the law.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Minister Ohn Win,

A 20-year-old elephant was brutally shot to death and disemboweled in Alaungdaw Kathapa National Park. Investigators believe that the elephant had been drinking water when shot four times, once in the head. The elephant’s tusks, toenails, and internal organs were removed as well, a stronger indicator of illegal poaching.

Poaching is the primary reason for the deaths of thousands of Myanmar’s elephants over the past decades and it continues to be one of the the biggest threats to the species, despite your country’s admirable conservation efforts.

This sanctuary is meant to protect these majestic creatures from poachers and others who wish them harm. Now those protections have been proven inadequate. I demand that you prosecute and punish this poacher, once they are identified, so that other animals will not be at risk.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]

THIS NEEDS TO BE DONE TO THIS COWARD, IF THE AUTHORITIES REALLY WANTED TO DO SOMETHING THEY COULD GO AND SEARCH EVERY HOUSE UNTIL THEY FIND THE EVIDENCE AND THE MONSTER WHO DID THIS. THEN THEY SHOULD REMOVE THIS BASTARDS TOENAILS AND TEETH AND LET THE REST OF THE ELEPHANTS GO AFTER HIM.

It is frustrating what money can do. I’ve been filling up petitions, sending emails and writing against poaching for the at least twenty years and the problem still persist. Everyone’s involved in money making by poaching, government officials, millionaires around the world and many other’s who sell their soul and integrity to the highest bidder at the expense of a cruel, inhuman animal kill. If aver anyone or any group wants to really put a stop to poaching they have to go after the big fish, the ones that finance or make the operation possible. These are powerful people but they are still humans and if you bleed, you die. Power based on money is all they got, deep inside they are a waste of flesh organism, with a prostituted fearsome soul. The poacher, is guilty as well but that’s easy game to a dedicated animal conservation unit sharp shooter, the problem is when one goes down, the other one pops up. All trying to get a piece of the cash. One bid fish is worth a thousand poacher’s and an end to one operation that will take the life of many of our beloved wild creatures.
