Stop Sending Refugees Back to Dangerous Conditions Due to Coronavirus Fears

Target: Chad Wolf, Acting United States Secretary of Homeland Security

Goal: Urge the United States to stop turning away refugees using the coronavirus as an excuse.

The United States is one of many countries rejecting migrants and refugees, using the coronavirus outbreak as an excuse. A total of over 20,000 refugees were turned away within the past two months, claiming a desire to prevent the spread of the disease. However, many see this as a thinly veiled excuse to enforce the anti-immigration agenda that has been in place since President Trump’s election.

While it is true that travel to and from the country is risky due to the coronavirus, there are now testing methods available, along with drugs to curb symptoms. It has been proven that the virus does not spread simply from people coming in and out of places, but by gathering in large groups. Refugees flee to the United States in hopes of escaping violence and persecution, only to be turned away using the outbreak as an excuse despite these aforementioned facts. This is not a safety measure, only another attempt to fuel Trump’s agenda.

Refugees deserve better than this, and we cannot keep using the virus as an excuse to deny people their basic rights to safety and asylum. Sign this petition to demand the U.S. government stop pushing refugees away.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Secretary Wolf,

The treatment of migrants and refugees by the United States during the coronavirus crisis is unacceptable. While it is true that travel to and from the country is risky, there are now tests and medicines available to mitigate some of the danger present. Right now, President Trump is simply using this virus as an excuse to push his anti-immigration agenda even further.

You must put a stop to this immediately. Since 2016, this country has been inexcusably cruel and hateful towards immigrants of any kind, and even more so towards refugees. Not only is Trump using the virus as an excuse to continue this behavior, but many of these refugees wind up forced into crowded camps; crowded spaces are one of the root causes of the virus’s spread. This is unacceptable, and it must stop now.

Sincerely,

Why let them come here? So they can bring and spread the covid here?

No. Leave them in their own country! We DON’T need them.

Oh. And the covid is NOT an “excuse”, it is a fact. Keep those criminals out of our country.

President Trump is simply using this virus as an excuse to push his anti-immigration agenda even further. Which, is his absolute right. He doesn’t want ILLEGAL aliens here. Leave them in their countries.

Lindsey, you want people with Chinese flu to continually come in and fill the hospitals, as they are currently doing, keeping American citizens out and costing the towns that they are in a fortune. Of course, you could pay for these people’s treatment if you prefer. America cannot cure the world.

Yes they are children of God….but there needs to be order and there needs to be common sense. this Lindsey person who wrote this petition is nothing more than a liberal pot stirer.
