Stop Trump From Encouraging Air Pollution During Deadly Pandemic

Target: Andrew R. Wheeler, Administrator of the United States Environmental Protection Agency

Goal: Strengthen soot pollution standards in order to prioritize clean air and save lives.

Standards for soot pollution will not be strengthened thanks to a recent decision by the Trump administration and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The EPA administrator, Andrew Wheeler, has claimed that soot regulations are adequate, despite studies showing that stricter regulations could save thousands of lives.

Soot particles come from burning coal, oil and wood. They penetrate the respiratory system and are linked to heart and lung diseases, asthma, bronchitis and cancer. The current standards for soot pollution allow 12 micrograms per cubic meter to be emitted. However, a study done by Harvard seniors found that strengthening the standard to 11 micrograms could save 12,000 lives per year.

Given the spread of the respiratory virus, Covid-19, health experts are particularly alarmed regarding communities of color who are disproportionately affected by pollution and have higher resulting death rates. Sign below to demand the EPA strengthen soot pollution standards in order to prioritize clean air and save thousands of lives.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Mr. Wheeler,

Scientific studies have proven that strengthening soot pollution standards will save thousands of lives. Despite this information, you claim that “the current standard remains protective and does not need to be changed.”

Particularly during the spread of Covid-19, a deadly respiratory virus, maintaining clean air must be a strict priority. I demand that you strengthen soot pollution standards in order to save thousands of lives.

Sincerely,

Trump should have been charged (served prison time) & fired for the impeachment. But,instead,
the Senate acquitted it. Now look at the big mess Trump has made of the USA. Wheeler & everyone else (that are making very bad choices during covid-19 crisis) should also be fired.

Yes I’d say Trump has really done it this time. His shear IGNORANCE, PRIDE, SELFISHNESS, STUPIDITY, LACK OF EVERYTHING THAT A PRESIDENT SHOULD BE has become a MURDERER. And this all from saying it was a “democractic” hoax, to lessoning the actual numbers of infected and dying/died, and his disregard to TAKE ACTION from the beginning of this whole MESS!! He’s a SOB and should have been FIRED when his was impeached. But instead, his dedicated REPUBLICANS stood by and behind him while sucking his penis and acquitted him. So here we are now with over 36,000 dead in the USA and even more getting sick and dying. And he thinks he’ll get re-elected that freakin SOB? HA fat chance. Maybe now people will see him for what he really is, the devil incarnate.
