23 Dogs Apparently Forced to Eat Bones and Live in Feces Deserve Justice

Target: Robeson County, NC District Attorney Matt Scott

Goal: Give maximum penalty to person who allegedly kept dogs in unacceptable living conditions.

Janice Maxine Brown allegedly kept forty dogs in disturbing and unsuitable conditions. Authorities claim that they have never seen a case where animals were treated this badly.

Twenty three dogs found in St. Pauls were apparently being given only bread and bones to eat and were found to be living in 8 to 12 inches of feces. Seventeen additional dogs found in Lumberton were allegedly living in cages in the back of  a condemned building surrounded by rodents. Slaughter meat was also allegedly discovered in the back of one of the houses, and the dogs were apparently being given water from an old pool in the backyard.

Fortunately, the dogs have been receiving treatment by various veterinarians in Robeson County, the county where they were found.  The dogs should soon be available for adoption. While this is good news, it is disturbing to think that they may have been living in such filthy conditions in the first place.

Demand Janice Maxine Brown be charged with any and all pertinent charges and that she also be given the maximum sentence if she is found guilty of this crime. Dogs deserve to live in homes with owners who do everything they possibly can to ensure they are provided with the best care, not sleeping in feces or surrounded by rodents.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear District Attorney Scott,

Janice Maxine Brown was arrested for allegedly keeping 40 dogs in disgusting conditions. Twenty three dogs were apparently found living surrounded by feces in one home. According to authorities, these dogs were only given bone and bread to eat and were further apparently given water out of a pool in the backyard. Seventeen other dogs were also allegedly found in cages surrounded by rodents behind an uninhabitable home.

Luckily, the dogs are being taken care of by local veterinarians, and they will all be put up for adoption in the future. Although this is probably the best possible outcome that could be achieved, it is heartbreaking to think that these animals may have been suffering for unknown amounts of time living in such horrific conditions.

For these reasons, we demand that Janice Maxine Brown be charged to the fullest extent of the law and that she also receive the severest penalty if she is found guilty of such abuse. Dogs deserve to be cared for by responsible owners, not hoarded and neglected.

Sincerely,

this waste of oxygen needs to be “kept” in the same manner. No taxpayer dollar to give it a warm cell and food. Lock it up and let it rot in it’s own waste. the ONLY suitable punishment.

  2. Why do most of these incidents always seem to happen in North and South Carolina??? What is wrong with the people in these places???

Lock her up in the same conditions she kept these poor dogs in…an eye for an eye! Shameful and truly a disgusting human being. FELONY charge for sure times 40!!!!

  5. I am deeply ashamed to be from this state. If I could move I would be gone in a heartbeat. Nothing will happen to this female lowlife passing as human. NC authorities take pride in being at the bottom of the trash barrel when it comes to animal rights and welfare.

Ban this sick moron from owning animals for life. Hope everyone in the local area is aware of the abuse these innocent animals suffered. Make the punishment fit the crime for the 40 animals that suffered hope karma catches up with her

  7. Justin Recht says:

So what will happen to this moron?
Most likely he will be deemed mentally not responsible and gets a mere slap on the wrist.
An Eye for an Eye treatment may improve his mental condition.
