Put Reckless World Leaders on Notice About Climate Change

Target: Klaus Schwab, Executive Chairman of the World Economic Forum

Goal: Combat climate change and protect our planet from imminent destruction.

Scientists have predicted that the Amazon rainforests could be approaching an irreversible “tipping point” in their survival. The planet as a whole may be approaching this same point of no return. As the leaders of the world’s major economies converge in Davos, now is the time to confront this crisis head-on.

While the World Economic Forum promises a focus on climate change at the Davos meeting, evidence of a true, worthwhile commitment is scarce. Opportunistic politicians around the world are throwing fire on this explosive crisis. The deforestation policies of Brazil’s president contributed to the raging Amazon wildfires of 2019. At the same time, the Australian president’s refusal to address climate change in meaningful ways has only exacerbated the infernos in that region. And Davos’ 2020 keynote speaker, President Donald Trump, is preparing to tack revoked protections for wetlands and streams on to his 95-and-counting current environmental rollbacks. Just days before the Davos meeting, the president tweeted this mocking “advice” to New Yorkers dealing with rising sea levels: “get your mops and buckets ready!”

Without unified, true global leadership, humanity runs the imminent risk of destroying its own home. Sign the petition below to hold these leaders accountable for ensuring this planet’s future.

Dear Professor Schwab,

The World Economic Forum recently listed climate change as an urgent concern amongst worldwide populations. For all of the differences and conflicts between countries and cultures, we all share this common enemy…an enemy of our own making. The time for talking has long passed, and the time for action is yesterday.

“Stakeholders for a cohesive and sustainable world:” this theme will drive Davos 2020, but a few speeches will not be enough. Do not let any one person co-opt this important summit or detract from its mission. Please carry this mission forward with purposeful intent. Let this annual gathering of world leaders be a starting point for a productive and proactive year where sustaining and safeguarding this world remains a top priority for earth’s economic powers.

The cost of inaction is far too high.

Everyone must be held accountable. If leaders refuse, they must be fired

    • if you want to help the air quality… shut Pelosi’s big mouth. that will also save a TON of tax dollars. they are trying to change a law in order to impeach him. if a law didn’t exist.. then a law wasn’t broken.

    • if you want to help the air quality, shut Pelosi’s mouth. they are trying to amend a law in order to impeach him. if a law didn’t exist.. then a law wasn’t broken.

    • I definately agree – Impeach corrupt Trump. This bastard is destroying America and all their Laws.

  2. you can’t put it all on world leaders. they can’t do anything if the people won’t do anything. the largest contributor to greenhouse gases is the meat producing industry. they have created a larger dead zone in the Gulf of Mexico than the BP oil spill… which BP at least tried to clean up as much as possible and it hasn’t happened since. but the factory farms continue to dump waste into the Gulf. CONSTANTLY… if you want to help the environment… stop eating meat.

  4. Terri Manabe says:

Those in power who are ignorant to our climate crsis should be removed from their positions. We need strong individuals who are realistic about the situation our plant is in. This isn’t a game, or some kind of made up bullshit but reality. The world has to come to it’s senses to fight this HUGE BATTLE and REVERSE THE CLIMATE CRISIS. We are almost at the point where we won’t be able to turn back and try to correct what damage we’ve done. Mankind has done this, it’ll take mankind to fix it. But, it’ll take the effort of EVERYONE IN THE WORLD to react and do. The people with all the power are ignoring this very real fact and it’ll be the end of us if we don’t get people in power who will FIGHT THIS FIGHT instead of going backward and being stupid about what needs to be done!!

    • Estamos destruyendo nuestro planeta y hay que enfocarse en ello, sin embargo, el cambio climático no lo podemos revertir ya que es un proceso natural, es cíclico, no es antropogénico. Espero entiendas y estudies al respecto.

  5. Sandra, Trump is destroying Us. He must be Impeached and REMOVED from office!!!

Sandra, you do not know or understand what you are talking about!!!

  6. El cambio climático no es antropogénico, es un proceso natural. Lo que debemos combatir es la contaminación y todo lo que está destruyendo nuestro planeta.

  7. Jose Espino says:

Trump is a great president and his impeachment attempt is fueled by hate and not facts. One think any government, unless a dictatorship, must remember and specially the US government is that they work for the welfare of the people. Then everyone included must understand that the world belongs to every living creature within, from the bug to the human the world belongs. Power must be used wisely for the sake of all.

  8. Rita McNany says:

With nearly 8 billion humans on the planet, any disaster will kill people and damage property! The current POTUS ignores issues regarding wildlife, deforestation, the environment ecosystems and climate change. He would rather allow oil companies to destroy habitats than save them! Every living creature needs clean air, clean water, clean food and a safe home to survive! Sadly there are more wildfires, floods and other disasters occurring with more frequency! These issues must be addressed whether you believe in climate crisis or not!

  9. Justin Recht says:

How can these leaders understand when they have all essentials at their fingertips?
How the great many suffer, people and animals – they only can imagine.
