Protect Yemen’s Innocent Civilians

Target: Brig. Gen. Saleh Ali Hassan, Deputy Minister of Defense, Yemen

Goal: Suspend warring in populated urban areas.

Civilians are stuck in the middle of Yemen’s bloodiest conflict to date. On one day alone, over 100 innocent civilians were injured by fire from pro-government and opposition forces. Demand that both sides respect the safety of civilians.

Homes are being shelled. Women and children are losing limbs. Six neighborhoods are affected by this violence, leaving thousands at death’s doorstep. Heavy fighting means that civilians can’t leave their homes, leaving them with no means of escape.

This total war must end. For nearly five years, civilians have suffered and nothing has changed. How many lives must be lost before this violence comes to an end? Sign the petition to demand that warring parties move out of Yemen’s most populous neighborhoods and cities.

Dear Brig. Gen. Hassan,

Total war has claimed the lives of countless civilians. Hundreds have been injured. Homes have been destroyed. Violence wages toward them from both sides of Yemen’s conflict. How many lives must be lost before this violence comes to an end?

If this violence is to continue between these two warring parties, it must move away from Yemen’s neighborhoods. This should not be a total war. You have a duty to protect your citizens.
