Cadbury: Stop Destroying Endangered Species and Their Habitats

Target: Dirk Van de Put, CEO, Cadbury

Goal: Cut ties with palm oil plantations that are killing endangered species.

A major chocolate company has direct ties with destructive palm oil plantations. Cadbury sources its ingredients from palm oil plantations. Demand that the chocolate giant cut ties with this destructive industry.

Palm oil is one of the leading causes of rainforest deforestation. Millions of acres of land are being destroyed and thousands of endangered species are losing their homes forever. Species like the orangutan are dying at rapid numbers, without a mate, without a home, and without food. If nothing is done to put a stop to the farming of palm oil, our rainforests may cease to exist.

As a major producer of chocolate, Cadbury has the opportunity and the financial means to direct change. Sign the petition to demand that Cadbury cut ties with destructive and deadly palm oil plantations.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Mr. Van de Put,

Cadbury is a major producer of chocolate. However, that chocolate is being produced at the expense of our rainforests and the endangered species that call them home. Palm oil is a source of the chocolates’ ingredients. One of the leading causes of deforestation, the palm oil industry has led to the deaths of thousands of innocent animals.

Cadbury has the means and the voice to direct immediate change. If you source from more sustainable and ethical industries, other chocolate producers may follow. I demand that you cut ties with palm oil plantations.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]

  1. They’re just like Nestle.

  2. Helen Caddick says:

Disgusting….. especially as there are kind ways around it .

  3. Dolores Proubasta says:

Consumers have the power: Don’t buy Cadbury products until they stop using palm oil. Do you hear us, Mr. Van de Put?

    • And that’s exactly what many of us have done. Cadbury has no ethics whatsoever – whatever sells. It’s quietly cut the size of its blocks, sold it’s soul to halal, again very quietly, and is instrumental in the depletion if land by its demand for palm oil.

Never buy ANY of its products. The CEO needs to listen to the consumer. Or lose money big time.

    • We boycott cadbury because of their anti animal & anti environment attitude.

  4. Industries such as Cadbury are money hungry and will go to any length to manufacture their products regardless of the destruction it will cause to get the ingredients needed. The industry is not completely at fault, they are meeting the public demand for their product. The more people that buy Cadbury the more palm oil they will need. That’s where government environmental protection agencies will need to step in but they seem to be useless in controlling these industrial giants. They appear to be government agencies working for the industry rather than protecting the environment as they are supposed to do. Money is a lethal temptation.

  5. Hit Cadbury where it counts, boycott Cadbury until they improve their ethics

  6. Disgraceful and shaming for such a large company that they even CONSIDER using palmoil yet alone using it! EVERYONE SHOULD BOYCOTT ALL CADBURY PRODUCTS UNTIL THEIR CEO AND MANAGEMENT COME TO THEIR SENSES AND SEE THE AFFECT THEIR ACTIONS AND THOSE OF OTHERS ARE CAUSING TO WILDLIFE AND THEIR HABITAT

  7. Yep no cadbury candy is being boughten by me now. We have easter coming too. I will buy another brand.

  8. My family & I boycott cadbury & any company that abuses animals and environment.

  9. Heather Brophy says:

Dirk, Stop the Torture, Greed and Killings we’ll spread the word to Boycott until you stop this Disgusting practice!

  10. SO IF WE, AS CONSUMERS, CHECK LABELS WHEN WE SHOP, WE SHOULD NOT BUY ANY PRODUCTS THAT CONTAIN PALM OIL. PERIOD!!!
PERSONALLY, I DON’T LIKE CADBURY PRODUCTS SO THAT WON’T BE DIFFICULT FOR ME. IT’S JUST CRAPPY CHEAP CHOCOLATE/CANDY

  11. Damn! This is so upsetting. I love the Cadbury almond milk chocolate bars. I will no longer purchase them. I have been looking at every product I buy for this insidious ingredient. Some mask it as “palm fruit” saying that it is “responsibly sourced.” What does that mean? Do they ask the orangutan’s permission to chop down the tree and relocate their families? I think not. Most of these products can use coconut oil, far less destructive to the animals and the environment.

  12. There’s 100’s of companies that are using palm oil and have been for many years in their products, not just candy but margarine, Crisco, pastries, ice cream, crackers, etc. Just check ingredients. It would stop if we don’t buy them.

  13. STOP BUYING THEIR PRODUCTS letting know to all the truth about their shame!!! The game has done!!

  14. Their products are no good’ Stop buying.

  15. I suspected All Along about Cadbury secretly using unsustainable palm oil. I don’t like their choc bars anyway and so I’m spreading the word far and wide to boycott every single money hungry and soulless giant corporation. I don’t know how the big wigs sleep but once their targets won’t be met due to ppl Waking up to the fact that they’re All disingenuous will be the day their down fall starts. Like dominos. But sadly most of the critically endangered animals will be extinct by then, Unless we Stop it NOW! By the way, the new Pollywaffle will undoubtably have palm oil in it. 😠

  16. I don’t buy Cadbury any longer. There is absolutely no reason to desecrate the areas for palm oil. There are alternatives to this! I have changed a number of products already by reading labels. If palm oil is in products try another product instead.
