Stop Banks From Financing Destructive Drilling in Alaskan Wilderness

Target: Jamie Dimon, President of JP Morgan Chase.

Goal: Stop the funding of destructive oil drilling in Native Alaskan Territory.

The natural landscapes of Alaska, home to Native America tribes, are under attack. Several banks are currently in the process of providing funding for oil companies who wish to open up sacred Alaskan tribal land to oil drilling and fracking. The Gwich’in tribe occupies the area currently up for proposal and members from the tribe say that the drilling will substantially damage their food supply and ability to survive. The Bureau of Land Management is currently working on an environmental report to prove that the land will be able to sustain oil drilling.

Local tribal members agree that drilling into the land will mean the poisoning of the food and water supply. Not only will the planned land usage interfere with the tribe’s ability to provide for themselves, but the very existence of the oil drills violates tribal treaties. We cannot keep breaking treaties for personal gain. The native peoples of Alaska have been through enough treaty breaking in their history. Enough is enough. Stand with us in demanding that the native Alaskans do not lose what little land they have left.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Mr. Dimon,

It is time to defund all oil operations immediately. Your banks are far too invested in killing this planet with no interest in sustainability or being able to repair damages, which is absolutely unacceptable. The Gwich’in people of Alaska deserve for their land to remain untouched by oil barons.

We should not be allowing our financial institutions to wield so much power against the environment. We need the banks to step back and do what’s right for the environment and the people who occupy this planet. Put an end to your bankrolling of oil operations immediately.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]

  1. It’s just sickening how easily you can destroy the planet and animals for money! Greed kills everything! There are a million things more important! Live simply!

  2. The Rev Charles H Hensel says:

I am a Chase customer. I resent the loans to drill.

  3. Like the world needs more oil-yes it’s greediness for the oil drillers -wanting riches at the expense of killing the environment and sea animals/fishes–how many sea lives were killed DUE TO NEGLIGENCE OF OIL SPILL/ACCIDENTS–BANKS ONLY LEND/GIVE MONEY TO PEOPLE HELPING THE ENVIRONMENT–BUILD SHELTERS FOR HOMELESS ANIMALS /PEOPLE–BUILD SCHOOLS–BANKS CHARGE HUGE INTEREST FOR LOANS WHILE PAYING OUT ZERO INTEREST ON SAVINGS…SHAME ON ALL GREEDY BLOOD SUCKING COWARDS.

  4. Heather Brophy says:

Dimon, WE’LL SPREAD THE WORD TO BOYCOTT YOUR BANKS UNTIL YOU STOP THE GREED, KILLINGS AND DESTRUCTION, YOU’RE NOT THE ONLY GAME IN TOWN! GOOD-BYE!

  5. Short term profits, long term harm! Please, money is not everything. Please consider the morals of your action. Thank You

  6. Sadly, this is a losing cause. Any time you combine money, banks, and rich companies who want to plunder the land, the earth loses. But we all still need to try, and so I support these efforts. It will take a miracle, however, to stop the money flood and destruction.

  7. Maria Bertrand says:

We don’t need any more depletion of land. Stop the greed!

  8. Corporate mendacious greed and vested interest , from oil and poaching, is a grasping bottomless pit . They have no respect for the environment, our disappearing wildlife, polluted oceans, or the reality of climate change. They have no interest in investing in sustainable energy as it will not fill the pockets of their ignorant and insatiable greed. Those pipes WILL spill, accidents from oil tankers WILL happen, but they do not care. We need to wake up before our beautiful pristine wildernesses are totally destroyed , and our beautiful animals are extinct.

  9. GREED! GREED! GREED! SHAME ON YOU WHO THOUGHTLESSLY DESTROY OUR BEAUTIFUL PLANET in the name of GREED !! !

  10. I’m too am a Chase customer and very upset and oppossed to drilling in Alaska. I believe we need to preserve both land and wildlife for the planet to have balance. The more we take away from the land, deprives the wildlife, and WILL AFFECT all of humankind in the end. Drilling isn’t going to benefit the land and will more than likely am both land and wildlife. As with drilling in other places, there have been MAJOR SPILLS and MAJOR PROBLEMS that follow. Chase don’t support big oil and GREED. Support our land, wildlife, and climate instead. With all the terrible storms lately more than ever before, all this mass destruction because our earth is lacking what we’ve managed to taint over the years, LOOK AT THE BIG OVER ALL PICTURE, not just what is immediately there money and GREED!!

  11. Greedy fucker only the gods almighter$$$ will please him ! Doesn’t care for environment! Hope his children pay the price

  12. If we like it or not, regardless if we live under a so-called democracy/communism and all the “isms” that exists – we are ruled by Corporate Dictators! Globally, they are united and work together. What connects them is money, control and egos.
The public too has power, imagine their would be a world-wide strike of all workers….

  13. La distruzione del Pianeta è ormai inarrestabile e nessuno fa nulla per evitarla

  14. There is no room in our world today for drilling & destruction of our wild beautiful places. Those who seek by greed will one day reap what they sew. Please stop supporting drilling any place on earth.

  15. UNCONSCIONABLE.

  16. The only thing these big corporations care about is money. They will ruin the planet if we do not stop them. Something has to be done.
Their big chiefs buy land in other safe countries (like New Zealand) so when they make things too bad in their own country they can escape and leave everyone else to deal with their mess they have caused.
    Shameful !!

  17. Banks should fund clean renewable energy sources, not polluting fossil fuels that drive climate change and severely damage our precious Earth.
