Dog Allegedly Burned with Fireplace Poker Deserves Justice

Target: Thomas M. Quinn III, District Attorney for Bristol County, Massachusetts

Goal: Punish the man who allegedly kicked, dragged, and burned his dog with a hot fireplace poker.

A dog was allegedly kicked, dragged, and burned with a fireplace poker in a shocking case of animal cruelty. The dog also appeared malnourished and neglected, police stated. Demand justice for this innocent dog.

“The vet looked at the injuries and stated that they were consistent with being deliberately burned,” stated Lt. Kevin Kobza of the Fairhaven Police Department. Police removed Bella, a one-and-a-half-year-old Portuguese Water Dog mix, from Paulo Raposo’s home after they received reports of animal abuse and neglect. Per witness accounts, Raposo had kicked and dragged Bella prior to burning her with a hot fireplace poker. She also reportedly appeared malnourished and in need of veterinary care.

The Fairhaven Animal Shelter took custody of Bella and she is recovering. Raposo has been charged with cruelty to animals and his arraignment has been scheduled. Sign below and demand that Raposo receives the maximum penalty possible, if convicted.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear District Attorney Quinn,

A dog endured horrific abuse, reportedly at the hands of her owner. A thorough veterinary exam showed that she had been deliberately burned with a hot fireplace poker. We demand justice for this poor dog.
