Horses Reportedly Forced to Eat Dirt and Wood to Survive Deserve Justice

Target: Chris Gaal, Prosecuting Attorney for Monroe County, Indiana

Goal: Demand that the man who allegedly starved three horses, leading to the death of two, receive the maximum penalty possible by law, if convicted.

Two horses allegedly starved to death in a sad case of animal cruelty. One surviving horse was reportedly so hungry that the poor animal ate dirt and wood. Demand justice for these innocent horses.

Officers with the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department searched Jeffery Richardson’s property after they received complaints about the health of his horses. Upon arrival, officers reportedly found the bodies of two deceased horses in a barn. Those horses appeared to have died from starvation. The one surviving horse on the property also showed signs of malnourishment, veterinarians stated, and the animal’s stool contained mainly dirt and wood.

The surviving horse was removed from the property and is now being cared for at a private residence. Officers charged Richardson with two felony and three misdemeanor counts of animal cruelty and failure to dispose of a dead animal. Sign below and demand that Richardson receive the maximum penalty possible by law, if convicted.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Prosecuting Attorney Gaal,

Two horses died, and one suffered, when they were allegedly starved. One horse reportedly became so desperate for food that the poor animal ate wood and dirt. We demand justice for these innocent horses.

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Department charged Jeffery Richardson with animal cruelty and failure to dispose of a dead animal after he allegedly starved two horses to death. Officers reportedly found the horses’ decomposing bodies inside of a barn, and they appeared to have died from starvation. One surviving horse showed signs of malnourishment, veterinarians stated, and the animal had ingested significant amounts of wood and dirt out of desperation. The surviving horse is now being cared for at a private residence. Richardson was arrested and will face his charges at a future hearing.

This alleged neglect cannot go unpunished. We demand that you seek the maximum penalty in this case.

Sincerely,

  1. Sick evil demonic barbarian humans abusing animals MUST be dumped in the middle of the desert.

  2. Elizabeth Sargeant says:

As long as animal cruelty counts as a misdemeanor people will continue to starve, abuse and neglect their animals. They simply don’t care enough.
The law needs to toughen up.

what the hell is wrong with the laws down there this murdering bastard should go away for a long time and starve the sucker let him know what it feels like I hope someone somewhere will make this creep pay for what he did

I agree with Elizabeth Sargeant! When the penalty for animal abuse is a slap on the wrist there is no deterrent!! Toughen up the laws & give these sick people what they deserve – long jail terms and HUGE fines plus put on an animal abuse registry and never allowed to own an animal again.

  4. This vile pr**k who did this needs to go without food for a few days to feel a small portion of the horrific suffering the horses went through.
That SOB was stuffing his mouth eating and going on with his life while his horses were staving to death.
You should be in prison! LOSER!
