Dog Who Died After Man Allegedly Shot into Home Deserves Justice

Target: Matthew C. Gedansky, State’s Attorney for Tolland Judicial District, Connecticut

Goal: Demand that the man allegedly responsible for shooting a dog receive the maximum penalty under law.

A dog was allegedly hit by bullets that entered a home in Connecticut in a shocking case of violence. The rescued Labrador Retriever later had to be euthanized due to his extensive injuries. We must demand justice for this poor dog.

The suspect, Daniel Ballard, is believed to have been responsible for firing at least 20 rounds into the home. While none of the human occupants inside the home were injured, the dog, who belonged to a family friend, was struck at least once during the hail of gunfire. The suspect was later arrested for reckless driving before he was connected with the tragic shooting.

Ballard is now in police custody on charges of reckless endangerment and criminal attempt to commit murder. As he awaits trial, we must demand that the dog who was killed during his shooting spree receive justice. Sign below and urge the state’s attorney to seek the maximum penalty possible by law, if this man is convicted.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear State’s Attorney Gedansky,

A rescued Labrador Retriever was allegedly struck by bullets that entered a where home he was staying in what appears to have been a shocking act of senseless violence. The dog sadly had to be euthanized due to the extent of his injuries. We demand justice for this innocent dog.

Coventry officers arrested Daniel Ballard after they received a domestic assault call from a woman who had escaped the home with her two children after the gunfire died down. They had reportedly remained uninjured during the shooting spree because they had managed to hide in the bathroom. The dog, who belonged to a family friend, was not so fortunate.

If Ballard is guilty of this barbaric crime, he is clearly a danger to the community and must be punished accordingly. We demand that you seek the maximum penalty in this case if he is convicted.

Sincerely,

  2. Trish Katwrangler W says:

As far as I’m concerned Daniel Ballard has committed murder. Please charge this psycho with everything you can, and throw his sorry self in prison. Shooting 20 bullets into a house is crazy s#!t, and he needs to be removed from society.
Let the other prisoners know this POS killed an innocent dog.

  3. Charge him the maximum penalties! People with guns are insane! Guns kill and are not necessary!

  4. Gabriela Torres says:

    Dear State’s Attorney Gedansky,

“If Ballard is guilty of this barbaric crime” — not if, he is guilty and deserves to spend time in jail!, please.

  5. Carol Brandt says:

There is only one thing a monster like that understands, the inside of a jail cell. Better punishment would be shooting him as he did the poor dog. Imagine the suffering he went through. Now imagine torturing the monster who did that.

  6. cynthia brown says:

put in jail and shoot at him
