Thank Israeli Government for Banning Animal Tested Products

Target: Israeli government

Goal: Thank Israel for banning the importation of products tested on animals

While the United States still legally condones animal trials, the Israeli government has decided to take a stand against the practice. In 2005, the Knesset, Israel’s legislature, officially banned animal trials in the country. Just recently, the legislature banned the importation and sale of any products that involved animal testing whatsoever. Now, companies that conduct animal trials in the U.S. and Europe cannot legally import and sell their products in Israel.

Product trials on animals are very common in the United States. Shampoo, detergents, moisturizer and other merchandise is routinely tested on rats, mice, rabbits, birds, dogs, chimps, and others before being sold to human customers. It is estimated that there are over 20 million animals currently living in labs all over the country.

The main problem with animal testing is that the subjects often suffer terrible pain. They are forced to inhale toxic fumes, ingest chemicals, and have dangerous liquids poured on their skin. Each year, a majority of the animals die during the testing process. If they do miraculously survive, they are often quickly euthanized by lab technicians.

Companies that conduct this testing believe that animal trials ensure better products for their customers. If the products are not first tested on animals, the companies could be selling dangerous merchandise. But large amounts of evidence suggest that animal testing is no longer necessary. Ethical options, such as human cells grown in a petri dish, can replace rats, mice, and others in the lab. These methods are just as effective for testing products and ensure that millions of living beings do not suffer for the sake of humanity.

Israel’s move to further protect lab animals is a great victory for animals living in labs all over the world. With any luck, other countries will follow Israel’s example and animal testing will soon become obsolete. Thank Israel for advocating for these innocent creatures.

Dear Knesset Members,

As you are well aware, animal testing is a terrible practice. Each year, millions of rats, mice, rabbits, birds, chimps, and others are locked in cages and subjected to experimentation. They are sprayed with toxic fumes, fed chemical-ridden food, and slathered with hazardous ointment. These experiments cause the lab animals tremendous pain and suffering, and many die in the process.

Thankfully, you have taken a stand against this cruelty. With your recent decision to ban the sale of any product tested on animals, you have shared your valuable opinion that animal testing is immoral and should not be condoned. Companies that benefit from forcing mice, rats, and other to undergo horrible experiments will be unwelcome in your country. With any luck, your decision will motivate other governments to follow your lead, and animal testing will soon become obsolete.

Thank you so much for your dedication to helping all defenseless creatures living in labs.
