Demand Justice for Eleven Lions Poisoned and Killed in National Park

Target: Emmanuel Tumusiime-Mutebile, Governor of Uganda

Goal: Find the people that poisoned and killed eleven lions in Uganda.

Eleven lions at the Queen Elizabeth National Park in Uganda were poisoned. Villagers believe that the three lionesses and eight cubs were at fault for killing a cow, which is why the incident occurred. After the poisoning, only about nineteen lions are left in the park, and these lions have the potential of becoming extinct in Africa. Action needs to be taken to stop people from killing lions when there are so few remaining.

The lion population in Africa has fallen drastically and more efforts need to be taken in order to preserve these creatures. A ranger with the authorities, Richard Kamara, posted on Facebook that “all communities living in the park must not have any domestic animals. Or they should be relocated.” The people responsible for the revenge killing of these beautiful creatures need to be caught so they cannot harm any more of the lions in the park. Demand the people involved be found and prosecuted.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Governor Tumusiime-Mutebile,

Villagers poisoned and killed eleven lions at the Queen Elizabeth National Park. There are only nineteen remaining. The three lionesses and eight cubs were victims of revenge for allegedly killing a cow. This is not the first time poisoning has occurred at the Queen Elizabeth National Park, as there has been at least one other incident. These killings cannot be taken lightly. These tree-climbing lions are severely endangered and can only be found in two places throughout the world.

These beautiful creatures need to be rescued from this terrible fate. This revenge killing was cruel and the people responsible for this heinous act need to be found and prosecuted for their horrific and deadly actions. We demand these people be found and prosecuted for their cruel actions.

Sincerely,

  1. Find the people who did this and poison them too!!! Animals are precious and deserve to be protected. Since they are near extinction, we need to be very serious about punishing animal abusers. When animals become extinct, we will become extinct!

  2. tania connor says:

Utterly disturbing . urgently find whom is responsible before they kill the other remaining lions. Make this a major major priority right this second .Jail and punish them severely . I am beyond angry .

  3. This is totally unacceptable find out how did this and make them understand they cannot do this. these animals are endangered & have to be assured of protection before they are lost forever.

  4. lynn woods says:

all animals are important and the way some people are hunting killing and eating them pretty soon there won’t be any left to admire and love such as India China all asian countries with their torturing and killing and eating dogs cat horses donkeys bears well anything that breaths they have to torture and eat now this lions are in danger please find who did this and jail them for a long time preferably in a hungry lions den

  5. Agree with Lynn. Love and compassion are in short supply and the human race has a lot to answer for. We should be protecting our fellow creatures who have every right to live here in peace but man, with his sophisticated weapons is systematically destroying for his own gratification. What goes round comes round. Karma is round the corner.

  6. Humans are the worst predators on this planet. Without lions, elephants, gorillas etc, Africa would like to not be worth visiting. The lions belong there and need the utmost protection.

    gorullaa,

  7. Rita McNany says:

This is horrific! These wonderful animals are becoming more scarce everyday. We must learn to share this planet with all creatures!

  8. Overpopulation, ignorance and greed is the greatest tragedy for our planet!

    May Karma teach a lesson!

  9. Marty Price says:

THESE UNEDUCATED IDIOTS NEED TO BE PUNISHED SEVERELY. TO KILL 11 LIONS BECAUSE OF ONE COW IS INSANITY. HOW MANY COWS DO WE HAVE IN THE WORLD COMPARED TO LIONS? ENTRUSTING THESE MAGNIFICENT CREATURES TO LIVE ALONG THESE BARBARIC MORONS WAS GOD’S BIGGEST MISTAKE.

  10. These animals are going to be extinct very soon. These people must be made to understand this and that poisoning them for the loss of one cow is not a valid reason for murder. Please prosecute these people so others will not commit more murders.

  11. FIND THE MONSTERS WHO DID THIS NOW AND SEVERELY PUNISH THEM. THAT IS THE ONLY WAY THAT THIS WILL STOP. JAIL THEM FOR 25 YEARS(NO IF AND’S OR BUTS) FINE THEM A HUGE AMOUNT 25-50 GRAND, TAKE AWAY ANY LICENSE THAT THEY MAY HAVE TO HUNT OR TO TRAVEL ANYWHERE. THEY MUST KNOW WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF THEY KILL AND HOPEFULLY THIS WILL STOP THESE MONSTERS BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE AND THESE SPECIES ARE GONE FOREVER!!

  12. give the jerks who poisoned these lions a taste of their own medicine…then get them to prison for a long time & make them pay hefty fines. STRONG ANIMAL PROTECTION LAWS ARE MANDATORY WORLD WIDE.

  13. IF THESE DAN IGNORANT PEOPLE BUILT A BRICK OR METAL WALL, THEN LIONS AND OTHER ANIMALS WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO GET IN AND ATTACK LIVE STOCK. I BLAME IT ALL ON THE VILLAGERS, IF THEY CARED ABOUT THEIR ANIMALS THEY WOULD BUILD AN ENCLOSURE SO THIS DOESN’T HAPPEN AGAIN. KILLING LIONS ISN’T GOING TO SOLVE THEIR PROBLEM.

  14. Patricia Dumais says:

These people were probably very upset because of the loss of their cow. Killing the lions was not the right thing to do. If their government offered them quick compensation (like another cow or money to buy one) such tragedies could be averted.

  15. Lisa Allred says:

    Signed & Shared

  16. Barton Dixon says:

The bad publicity from the killing of your lions by villagers will likely diminish tourism in your country. It will mean less food on the plates of many other Ugandans.
Humans are selfish, in spite of the gift of choice that God gave them, and all too often that selfishness hurts animals and people alike.
The same mentality that can condone injury to animals, is present to bring injury to humanity to.

  17. Abuse the scum says:

Those B***ds. It’s there fault the cow was eaten. Relocate them since you can’t protect them, were there cameras? They died a horrible death trying to feed their cubs. Take Action against those killers.
