Dog Reportedly Covered in Maggots and Matted Hair Deserves Justice

Target: Timothy D. Sini, District Attorney for Suffolk County, New York

Goal: Charge the man who allegedly neglected his dog, leading to a maggot infestation and severely matted hair, with the maximum penalty possible by law.

A dog was covered in maggots and matted hair due to alleged neglect. The suspect reportedly brought the dog into a veterinarian to be euthanized. Demand justice for this poor dog.

“In all my years, I’ve never seen it that bad,” stated Dr. Arnold Lesser of the New York Veterinary Specialty Center. Hakim El-Quhir reportedly brought Fluffy, an 8-year-old cockapoo, into the clinic and asked for her to be euthanized. An examination showed that Fluffy was crawling with maggots and covered in feces and urine. Her hair was so severely matted, the veterinarian stated, that she could not even stand or walk on her own.

The Babylon Animal Shelter took custody of Fluffy and she is now recovering. Suffolk County SPCA detectives charged El-Quhir with animal cruelty and he will answer his charges at a later date. Sign below to demand that El-Quhir receives the maximum penalty possible by law, if convicted.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear District Attorney Sini,

A dog was reportedly denied basic medical care, leading to severely matted hair and a maggot infestation. The suspect reportedly brought the dog into a veterinary clinic to be euthanized. We demand justice for this innocent dog.

Suffolk County SPCA detectives charged Hakim El-Quhir with animal cruelty after he allegedly neglected his dog for months. Fluffy, an 8-year-old cockapoo, was reportedly covered in maggots, feces, and urine when she was brought into the New York Veterinary Specialty Center. Her hair had become so matted, the veterinarian stated, that she could not stand or walk. She also suffered a deep cut on her back leg, reports showed. The Babylon Animal Shelter took custody of Fluffy and she is recovering. El-Quhir could face jail time, if convicted.

This alleged neglect cannot go unpunished. We demand that you seek the maximum penalty in this case.

Sincerely,
