Revoke License of Texas Doctor Who Allegedly Engaged in Malpractice for Personal Gain

Target: Sherif Zaafran, M.D., President of the Texas Medical Board

Goal: Revoke licensing for Dr. Jorge Zamora-Quezada for alleged malpractice.

A Texas medical doctor has allegedly been performing unnecessary procedures on patients in order to fuel a high-profile lifestyle. Dr. Jorge Zamora-Quezada, a rheumatologist, was allegedly giving patients injections under the guise of strengthening cartilage around arthritic joints. In some cases, when patients of Zamora-Quezada’s went to seek second opinions, they were reportedly told that they weren’t even suffering from arthritis.

Zamora-Quezada is being investigated for a possible fraud case involving $240 million in claims that may be associated with fraudulent statements submitted to health care benefit programs, resulting in a $50-million payout to the doctor. The Department of Justice made a statement on May 14, 2018 that Zamora-Quezada had given patients chemotherapy and toxic treatments that they didn’t need in order to help fund his lavish lifestyle.

Sign this petition to urge Dr. Sherif Zaafran, President of the Texas Medical Board, to revoke Zamora-Quezada’s licensing.

Dear Dr. Sherif Zaafran,

As you know, medical doctors take oaths to always serve the communities with which they work in good faith. Dr. Jorge Zamora-Quezada has allegedly not been doing that. He has reportedly received reprimands in the past for his lack of professionalism, and now he has allegedly engaged in malpractice out of the selfish desire to live a lifestyle that allowed him multiple luxury properties and customized cars.

When there is even a doubt that a doctor is overlooking what is best for his patients’ health in order to focus on his own monetary gain, his practice must be stopped. I urge you to revoke licensing for Dr. Jorge Zamora-Quezada.
