Tiger Cub Found in Duffel Bag Deserves Justice

Target: Dr. Warren Thomas, Director of the Gladys Porter Zoo

Goal: Ensure that tiger cub found in a duffel bag is sent to a sanctuary.

Tiger cub Niño was found unconscious and stuffed into a duffel bag in Brownsville, Texas. The two-month-old cub was reportedly escorted over the border by three animal smugglers who allegedly dropped him when they were being targeted by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

Currently, Niño is at the Brownsville’s Gladys Porter Zoo. He is only two months old and does not deserve to live in captivity for the rest of his life when he has already endured so much trauma at a young age. In the past, the zoo has taken in six cubs—one died, three stayed at the zoo, and two were sent to a sanctuary. Niño deserves to be sent to a sanctuary; he does not deserve to live the rest of his life in a zoo. Demand that the Brownsville’s Gladys Porter Zoo send Niño to a sanctuary.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Dr. Thomas,

Tiger cub Niño was a victim of the multi-billion-dollar illegal animal trade. He was brought to the United States with the intent to be sold. He was tranquilized and stuffed into a small black duffel bag at the age of two months. Luckily, Niño was found by Border Protection agents; if he wasn’t, Niño could’ve died of heat exhaustion, hunger, or suffocation. This poor innocent animal deserves to be safe and free, not live out the rest of his life in a zoo.

Niño is only two months old, and he deserves to live a full and healthy life. He has already suffered a great deal, and the trauma needs to end here. This beautiful tiger cub deserves to live freely. Please give Niño the justice he deserves and send him to a sanctuary where he can live the out the remainder of his life.

Sincerely,

  1. Justice must be served for this tiger! Someone stole him and now his whole life has been destroyed! A sanctuary is a good place for him, but it is not his natural home!
