Cows and Donkeys Allegedly Starved to Death Deserve Justice

Target: Stephen B. Russell, State Attorney for Collier County, Florida

Goal: Demand that the man who allegedly starved 131 cows, calves, and donkeys on his farm, leading to the deaths of 13, receive the maximum penalty by law.

Over 100 cows, calves, and donkeys suffered, and many died, when they were allegedly starved and neglected. The animals were reportedly just bags of bones by the time they were rescued from their farm. Demand justice for these poor animals.

The Hendry County Sheriff’s Office investigated 51-year-old Robert David Starkweather’s farm after they received reports of dead and sick animals on the property. Per investigators, 77 cows, 48 calves, and two donkeys suffered from malnutrition so severe that their ribs showed through their skin. Thirteen animals were found dead, reports stated, and their bodies remained on the farm without proper disposal.

The sheriff’s office seized the surviving animals. One additional calf died and five more had to be euthanized due to the severity of their condition. Starkweather was charged with 131 counts of cruelty to animals and 13 counts of improperly disposing of dead animals. Sign below and demand that Starkweather receive the maximum penalty by law, if convicted.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear State Attorney Russell,

Thirteen animals died and 131 more suffered when they were allegedly starved and neglected. The cows, calves, and donkeys were reportedly severely emaciated and had no access to food. We demand justice for these innocent animals.

The Hendry County Sheriff’s Office removed 131 cows, calves, and donkeys from Robert David Starkweather’s farm after they were allegedly found to have been starved and neglected. The animals suffered from emaciation so severe, investigators stated, that their ribs showed through their skin. Investigators also reportedly found the undisposed remains of 13 animals on the property. One additional calf died, and five more had to be euthanized in order to ease their suffering. Starkweather was charged with 131 counts of animal cruelty and 13 counts of improper disposal of dead animals.

If Starkweather is found guilty, then he is a danger to animals and must be punished. We demand that you seek the maximum penalty in this case.

Sincerely,

  1. Whoever us responsible for this horrible treatment of animals needs to be hung in a public square. They do not deserve to live. I would gladly pull the rope to end these horrible monsters from being among us.
