Over 100 Animals Allegedly Kept in Filth With No Food or Water Deserve Justice

Target: John F. Muehl, District Attorney for Otsego County, New York

Goal: Demand that the people who allegedly neglected over 100 animals are charged with animal cruelty and assigned the maximum penalty by law.

Over 100 animals were allegedly neglected and forced to live in filth in a shocking case of animal cruelty. The animals reportedly lived on a ill-kept farm and had no access to food or water. Demand justice for these poor animals.

Investigators with the Otsego County Sheriff’s Office searched a Garratsville farm to find 102 animals allegedly neglected. The animals, including 9 dogs, 1 cat, 20 pigs, 7 donkeys, 13 chickens, 3 ducks, 13 sheep, 25 geese, and 7 rabbits, reportedly lived in filth and had no access to food or water. Photos, taken by the Susquehanna Animal Shelter, appear to show the animals covered in mud and living inside of dirty pens. Some of the animals did require medical attention and their status is currently confidential.

The investigation is ongoing and charges have not yet been filed. Many of the animals have been placed in new homes and the dogs and cat are receiving medical attention at the shelter. Sign below and demand that the people responsible are charged with animal cruelty and assigned the maximum penalty by law.

Dear District Attorney Muehl,

Over 100 animals suffered when they were allegedly neglected. The animals reportedly lived on a farm amongst their own excrement. We demand justice for these innocent animals.

Shocking photos, taken by the Susquehanna Animal Shelter, appear to show multiple animals covered in filth and living in small dirty pens on a farm. Per investigators, the animals had no access to food or water and some of them required medical attention. The animals involved included 9 dogs, 1 cat, 20 pigs, 7 donkeys, 13 chickens, 3 ducks, 13 sheep, 25 geese, 7 rabbits, 1 guinea hen, 2 parakeets, 1 pigeon, and 1 tortoise. Thanks to the shelter, many of the animals have found new homes. The dogs’ and cat’s condition are unreported at this time, but they are being kept at the shelter for medical purposes. The investigation is ongoing, and charges have not yet been filed.

This apparent case of horrific cruelty must be punished. We demand that you charge the people found responsible with animal cruelty and assign the maximum penalty by law.

  1. Over 100 animals, left without food and water and trapped in filth. There is really no legal way to properly punish these freaks – they should get life in a filthy cell without water or food or anyone who gives a crap looking in to see if they died in their own feces. Punish them to the full extent of the sad and inadequate animal cruelty laws you have and then do the right thing – ban them from ever touching an animal again, mandatory life long community service and counseling. Then get better laws on your books!

  2. I agree. We need to update cruelty laws. I think that people take on too much and can’t take care of the animals. You think they would have noticed the work involved after only a few animals but instead they added more. Stupidity HAS to be a factor here! The only animals that these people should be able to have in the future (if they aren’ in jail) is toy animals from Walmart!

  3. Jaime Perez says:

These poor animals were forced to suffer so much at the hands of these disgusting, heartless creatures! They deserve to be forced to live in their own filth and suffer just like these innocent animals. I’m so glad the animals were rescued.

  4. Sinful morons!!! Pls help these innocent animals!! STOP EATING MEAT TOO!!

  5. Lisa Allred says:

These asswipes should be forced to live the exact same way as these poor animals❗️😠

  6. How can such go on for a long time without noticing that something is wrong?

It is up to every person to report abuse immediately. It can be done anonymously.

More unannounced inspections of farm are needed! Volunteers should be trained to at least take pictures, and report to authorities.

What punishment is enough? Often lack if intellectual capacity is to blame – but who can make this decision?

Our – my- anger toward abusers can reach far into darkest corners but it is not realistic. Pro-action is needed. We should never be afraid to report abuse!
