Punish Man Accused of Killing Neighborhood Cats

Target: Brad Schimel, Attorney General of Wisconsin

Goal: Prosecute ex-trooper charged with the murder of innocent cats.

Nine cats were viciously murdered and their bodies left in the yard of one woman. Liz Masterson, the woman whose yard became this dumping ground, reports the first dead cat showing up in February, and has said that only recently did she catch a former state trooper in the act of leaving another in her yard. According to the authorities, Paul Greiner was “angry” at the animals for scaring the birds away from his own yard and allegedly “took matters into his own hands.”

There is no valid excuse for the brutal murders of these poor animals. Masterson reports that at least one of the cats had died with a look of absolute terror frozen on their face; one can only imagine the sheer horror and confusion these poor cats felt just before their lives ended. Furthermore, there have always been far more humane methods of protecting one’s property and bird feeders from cats. Greiner’s alleged actions were unnecessary and gratuitously violent.

Greiner has been charged with animal cruelty and is due in court within a week. We must ensure that he is found guilty for his alleged crimes; while it will not bring back the cats he apparently murdered, it will protect other cats from such a fate. Dear Attorney General Schimel,

Former state trooper Paul Greiner allegedly killed nine cats and left their bodies in a neighbor’s yard; his alleged actions were committed out of anger towards the animals for chasing the birds away from his own yard. The killings have been taking place since February, with Liz Masterson only recently catching Greiner in the act. Masterson reports that at least one cat’s face was frozen in a permanent state of horror and fear.

This man’s alleged cruelty was not only deplorable, but completely unnecessary. There are far more humane methods of keeping cats off one’s property, rendering the deaths of these innocent cats even more pointless. No animal deserves to die so horrifically; one can only imagine the fear these poor cats felt as this man allegedly took their lives.

Greiner is due in court next week, and must face justice for his alleged actions. Please ensure that he is found guilty and punished accordingly.

  2. An ex-cop, isn’t that comforting to know. A man who knows the law just deliberately and blatantly ignored it without a qualm or, apparently, without any fear of being punished for his savage and selfish brutality. Hang him.
