End Horrific Child Labor and Abuse in the Tobacco Industry

Target: Emmerson Mnangagwa, President of Zimbabwe

Goal: Bring an end to child labor in the tobacco industry of Zimbabwe.

Children are being dangerously exploited and exposed to toxic chemicals while toiling on the tobacco farms of Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe is one of the world’s largest tobacco producers. However, it is child labor that has made this possible.

Children working on Zimbabwe’s tobacco farms are exposed to toxic chemicals. Their health and safety are threatened as they inhale nicotine and other pesticides. Some children are even suffering from nicotine poisoning.

A poor economy and abuse of legal regulations, not to mention an added $933 million in exports, allows this horrific child abuse to continue. It must be brought to an end. Sign the petition to demand Zimbabwe’s government end child labor in the tobacco industry.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear President Mnangagwa,

Children in your nation are suffering. Abused and exploited, many are being forced to toil on dangerous and toxic tobacco farms. Their work helps spur a $900 million industry, which would explain why so little has been done to protect them.

You must take action now. Children are inhaling pesticides and being poisoned by nicotine, all so your nation can export a product that has already sent millions to their deaths. I demand you enact stringent regulations that will ban this horrific child labor on your nation’s tobacco farms.

Sincerely,

  1. The tobacco industry knows but do not care as long as they get hold of the money. But as a believer in God, Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit, they will face the consequence when time comes.

  2. Gen Agustsson says:

stop child labor. kids should be in educational schools not go to work in fields. we need more adult farmers not child labor farmers.
