Dog Allegedly Starved to Death Deserves Justice

Target: Tom Gibbons, State’s Attorney for Madison County, Illinois

Goal: Demand that the man and woman who allegedly starved a dog to death receive the maximum penalty by law.

A dog suffered and died when the poor animal was allegedly starved to death. Plastic pieces from a dog house were reportedly the only thing found in the dog’s stomach. Demand justice for this poor dog.

Investigators with Granite City Animal Control visited the home of John Haynes and Jonyce Lockett after they received reports of a starving dog. Per investigators, the dog was dead upon their arrival. Necropsy reports showed that the dog died of malnutrition and they found no food in the animal’s stomach. However, the starving dog was reportedly so desperate that the poor thing ate plastic from a dog house in an effort to survive.

Investigators charged Haynes and Lockett with one count of aggravated animal cruelty. If convicted, they could both face up to three years in prison. Sign below and demand that Haynes and Lockett receive the maximum penalty by law, if convicted.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear District Attorney Gibbons,

A dog allegedly starved to death in a shocking case of animal cruelty. The dog reportedly became so hungry that the poor animal ate plastic from a dog house. We demand justice for this innocent dog.

Investigators with Granite City Animal Control charged John Haynes and Jonyce Lockett with one count of aggravated animal cruelty after they allegedly starved their dog to death. Investigators reportedly found the dog dead of apparent malnutrition at Haynes’ and Lockett’s home. Necropsy reports showed that the dog had eaten plastic pieces from a dog house in a desperate attempt to survive. Haynes and Lockett were arrested, and their bail was set at $50,000. They could face up to three years in prison, if convicted.

This apparent instance of malicious cruelty must be punished. We demand that you seek the maximum penalty in this case.

Sincerely,

That’s all they deserve? Three ‘short’ years in prison? C’mon they shouldn’t be fed while they spend at least 10 years in prison; why do we need people like them to be alive?
