Nearly 150 Animals Allegedly Denied Food and Care Deserve Justice

Target: Tom P. Thompson Jr., District Attorney for Lebanon, Tennessee

Goal: Demand that the people who allegedly starved and denied veterinary care to nearly 150 animals, leading to several deaths, receive the maximum penalty by law.

Nearly 150 animals suffered and many died when they were allegedly denied food and veterinary care. The surviving animals reportedly suffered from various untreated ailments, including broken bones and parasitic infestations. Demand justice for these poor animals.

The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office shut down a multi-species breeding operation after they reportedly found evidence of extreme animal cruelty. Per investigators, about 150 animals did not have adequate access to food and water and lived in their own urine. A zebra, a cat, a duck and rabbits were reportedly found dead on the property, and ammonia levels in the house were reportedly among the highest ever recorded in the county. Investigators also documented parasitic infestations, broken bones, matting, eye and ear infections, and respiratory ailments among the surviving animals.

Animal Rescue Corps seized the surviving animals, gave them veterinary care, and transported them to various shelters and rescue operations in the area. The investigation is ongoing. Sign below and demand that the people responsible for this cruelty be charged and assigned the maximum penalty by law.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear District Attorney Thompson,

Nearly 150 animals were allegedly starved and neglected in a shocking case of animal cruelty. The animals reportedly lived in their own urine and had no access to food or water. Demand justice for these poor animals.

The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office searched a multi-species breeding operation after they received reports of a dead zebra on the property. Per investigators, nearly 150 animals suffered from malnutrition, neglect, and various untreated ailments on the property. A cat, a duck, and rabbits were also reportedly found dead, and the ammonia levels were reportedly some of the highest ever seen in the county. Animal Rescue Corps seized the surviving animals, gave them veterinary care, and sent them to local shelters for adoption. Deputies shut down the breeding operation, and the investigation is ongoing.

This cruelty must be punished. We demand that you charge the people responsible with animal cruelty and seek the maximum penalty by law.
