Stop Pro-Torture Nominee From Leading the CIA

Target: Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.

Goal: Block the appointment of staunch pro-torture advocate as CIA Director

One of the biggest champions of the CIA’s infamous torture program is about to become the Director of the CIA. Gina Haspel is currently nominated by President Trump to lead the CIA, even after being the most vocal supporter of interrogation programs that were found to be in violation of human rights. Haspel has not only supported the program, but has defended it against the most vocal opponents.

Internal investigations found the CIA held numerous torture sessions which resulted in no new useful intelligence.
We can’t afford to let more civil liberties be stripped away by allowing such a monstrous individual to lead the CIA. Sign the petition below to demand Haspel’s nomination be blocked.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Mr. McConnell,

Each day is a new challenge under the Trump Administration and there are only so many ways to combat his authority from within the system. One of the best ways to exercise that power is to block nominations on the Senate floor.

The future of American diplomacy depends on retiring individuals who prefer torture over negotiations. If we don’t do something about this troubling trend of dangerous people in positions of power, America’s government is going to be a powder-keg of instability. We the people demand you block Gina Haspel, the latest Trump nominee to support torture and violations of human rights, from the position as CIA Director.

Sincerely,

  1. I am sick about having a government official who supports torturing other human beings. I have seen no proof that torture is effective.

  2. Juan Canet says:

Isn’t she a wanted war criminal by international law? With this said her nomination reflects the lack of morals in nominating her.

  3. …and governments wonder why the public does not place any trust in them.

  4. Pathetic. Seems like she is a slave of money in lack of human dignity and the respect of human rights.

  5. TERRORISTS ARE NOT HUMANS, THEY ARE MONSTERS. THEY KILL ANYONE WHO IS NOT MUSLIM, THEY KILL AMERICANS. REMEMBER THE AMERICAN SOLDIERS THAT WERE KILLED AND DRAGGED THROUGH THE STREETS IN SOMALIA? I DON’T SEE ANY OF YOU COMMENTING ABOUT THESE EVIL DOERS. BEING NICE TO THOSE MONSTERS WILL GET YOU NOWHERE WHEN INTERROGATING THEM. THESE COWARDS KILL WOMEN AND CHILDREN AND THEN BLAME IT ON AMERICANS, THEY HAVE KILLED MISSIONARIES,HUMANITARIANS AND EVERYONE ELSE THEY DON’T LIKE. SORRY,I HAVE NO SYMPATHY FOR MURDERERS, YOU HAVE MORE SYMPATHY FOR TERRORISTS/MURDERERS THAN YOU DO FOR THE MEN AND WOMEN FIGHTING THESE WARS TO PROTECT AMERICANS AND THIS IS HOW YOU PAY THEM BACK?

  6. WE NEED TO STOP BEING WIMPS!
