Praise Versace for Ending Use of Fur

Target: Donatella Versace, Vice President of Versace

Goal: Praise Versace for no longer using fur in its products.

After years of supporting the fur industry, the design house Versace has decided to go fur free for its future collections. This is a great victory for animals.

Animals trapped within the fur industry face a variety of mental and physical hardships. They are often confined in small, cramped wire cages where they have limited access to food, clean water, and sunshine. The animals are typically crudely killed much before their time. Common ways of killing include neck-breaking, strangulation, suffocation, and poisoning. These methods  are not always effective, which means many animals are skinned alive.

Sign this petition to praise Versace for no longer using fur along with other designers Michael Kors, Gucci, Tommy Hilfiger, and BCBG.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Ms. Versace,

You recently announced in an interview with Vogue that Versace would no longer be using fur in its collections. I was ecstatic to hear this news.

As you know, animals trapped within the fur industry face unimaginable horrors daily. They are typically kept in small, dirty wire cages and rarely see sunlight. The animals are killed young and in whatever way the workers deem most convenient. Common ways include strangulation, suffocation, neck-breaking, anal electrocution, and poisoning. Sometimes, animals are even skinned alive. The fur industry is cruel and relentless.

Thank you for ending Versace’s use of fur. You are now joining designers Michael Kors, Gucci, Tommy Hilfiger, BCBG, Ralph Lauren, and J. Crew in the fight against fur.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]

  1. Better late than never, but why did you ever think it was acceptable? I hope you will be more successful and encourage others to reject cruelty to animals too

I think they just gave into pressure and did not do it out of compassion, which is why they should have done it.
