Justice for Starving and Neglected Cattle

Target: Ken Paxton, Texas Attorney General

Goal: Ensure person who allegedly denied food, water, and shelter to a herd of over 300 cattle faces justice.

338 neglected cattle were rescued from a property in the town of Aquilla, Texas. They were reportedly found without food, water, or shelter, helpless and emaciated and struggling to survive. Many cows allegedly lay on the property dead from starvation, dehydration, and harsh elements. A Hill County ranch owner is suspected of committing this crime and faces anticipated charges of cruelty to livestock animals.

The Hill County Sheriff’s Department received a tip about the undernourished herd and joined forces with the Humane Society of North Texas to save the ailing cattle. They reported a devastating scene, with anxious and starving cows wandering around in desperation. What kind of unconscionable person would abandon their animals in such a manner, leaving them to suffer a slow and agonizing death?

Fortunately, custody of the herd was temporarily granted to the Humane Society of North Texas, and work has begun to help these neglected beasts regain their health. The herd consists mostly of Texas Longhorns, a breed characterized by their sturdy and muscular physique. Gradually, many skeletal cows are gaining weight with proper nutrition and care. The ultimate goal is to get them healthy enough for adoption should permanent custody be awarded to the Humane Society.

The owner who allegedly abandoned these dependent creatures must be held accountable for a large-scale act of horrendous animal cruelty if found guilty. The number of deceased cows discovered on the property and the gaunt, sickly condition of the survivors is an atrocity. Sign the petition to demand that the person responsible for this brutality be punished to the fullest extent of the law.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Attorney General Paxton,

The reported discovery of 338 neglected Longhorns and other types of cattle on a property in Aquilla, Texas, appears to be a shocking example of irresponsible animal ownership and livestock animal cruelty. The herd was allegedly denied access to food, water, or shelter, forcing them to exist in a constant state of fear and desperation. A suspect has been identified and is expected to be charged with cruelty of livestock animals.

The emaciated herd was reportedly suffering from starvation, dehydration, and lack of adequate shelter. Thankfully, the Humane Society of North Texas has been granted temporary custody. They have relocated the cows and are diligently working to help the bovine survivors regain strength and vitality.

No living being should be abandoned and left to starve and desiccate in harsh surroundings. The trepidation and angst these harmless creatures have endured is inhumane and coldhearted. I urge that the person found guilty of this merciless crime be punished to the maximum extent of the law.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]
