Tell Trump Not to Slash Jobs for Scientists

Target: Donald Trump, President of the United States of America

Goal: Do not move forward with plans to cut over half the current job positions held by scientists and engineers at the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

Over half of the jobs currently held by scientists and engineers at the EPA may soon be lost forever, if President Donald Trump and EPA administrator Scott Pruitt have their way through an insidious process known as “workforce reshaping.” As part of this ongoing process, researchers at the National Exposure Research Laboratory in Las Vegas were already told to pack up and head elsewhere. This is only the start of what appears to be a disturbing trend moving forward.

The environmental science funded through the EPA depends on having some of the best and brightest minds available to conduct studies on such topics as global warming and the effects of air pollution on people and the environment. If these jobs are lost, important solutions to these pressing issues may be irrevocably lost to us as well. We owe it to ourselves, future generations, and the planet as a whole to ensure that this important research continues.

Donald Trump and his administration may wish to silence science in the hopes of hiding the facts, but the truth behind climate change and other catastrophes caused by human activities remains. Sign this petition and tell Trump that this downsizing is dangerous and must be stopped immediately.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear President Trump,

As president of the United States, you hold the future of this country in your hands. What kind of future are we passing down to future generations if solutions to major issues like global warming or air pollution are not found? By cutting science and engineering jobs at the Environmental Protection Agency, you are jeopardizing future research and putting the entire planet at risk.

We need to be investing more, not less, in scientific research on these important topics. By cutting jobs at government-funded research facilities nationwide, you are driving scientists and innovation away from this country as researchers find work elsewhere. For the sake of all future Americans, and for this one earth we all share, I urge you to stop cutting science and research jobs at the EPA.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]

  1. This man and his “lap dogs” are going to ruin this planet for every living thing. I find it strange that they don’t seem to understand that they are also a part of this world and have no place else to go.

  2. There is much money wasted in government and EPA did not clean up much it seems. FBI/FDA/EPA etc all maybe misusing funds. Research etc often is pretend for cancer/MS etc. Trump is helping in a good way. EPA is still there. Preventing pollution is needed also.

    • What absolute rubbish you are commenting. Trump is an idiot. And while this moron is President of America the country will end up in a shit hole. Where this arse hole should be.

  3. Trump,
Your culture of ignorance for profit can end now or after you’re impeached. You are a blot on the history of this country that will never be forgotten.

  4. Bloody dumb arse Trump. The only way you can stop this pea size brain moron is by eradication.

    give the scientists the chance.
