Two Dogs Allegedly Starved to Death in Drug-Filled Home Deserve Justice

Target: David Learner, District Attorney for Caldwell County, North Carolina

Goal: Demand that the man who allegedly abandoned two dogs without food, leading to the dogs’ deaths, receives the maximum penalty by law.

Two dogs starved to death when they were allegedly abandoned in a drug-filled home. The dogs were reportedly chained up in the backyard without access to food. Demand justice for these poor dogs.

“It stirs you inside and it shakes you to the core,” stated Benjamin Kirk, the owner of the property where two pit bulls were reportedly left to die. Kirk, the landlord, arrived on his property to evict Dieron O’Shay Ruff, the current tenant, and instead discovered the deceased dogs chained up in the backyard. The dogs’ ribs showed through their skin, Kirk stated, and they appeared to have starved to death. Rats and cockroaches reportedly roamed the property and drug paraphernalia was strewn across the home.

Ruff’s whereabouts are currently unknown. Investigators with the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office have issued a warrant for his arrest. Sign below and demand that Ruff be charged with animal cruelty and receive the maximum penalty by law, if convicted.

Dear District Attorney Learner,

Two dogs reportedly starved to dead in a shocking case of animal cruelty. The dogs were reportedly chained in the backyard without access to food. We demand justice for these innocent dogs.

Investigators with the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office issued an arrest warrant for Dieron O’Shay Ruff after he allegedly abandoned two dogs without food, leading to the dogs’ deaths. Ruff’s landlord, Benjamin Kirk, found the deceased pit bulls chained in the backyard when he arrived to evict Ruff. The dogs’ ribs showed through their skin and investigators suspect that the dogs starved to death. Rats and cockroaches infested the property, Kirk stated, and drug paraphernalia was scattered throughout the house. Ruff’s location is currently unknown and the investigation is ongoing.

This cruelty cannot go unpunished. We demand that you bring charges against this suspect and seek the maximum penalty in this case.

That owner is a murderer. The only real justice would be to do the exact same thing to him. Chain him up outside, and starve him to death.
