Praise Norway for Banning Fur Farming

Target: Erna Solberg, Prime Minister of Norway

Goal: Praise Norway for announcing its plans to shut down all fur farms by 2025.

Norway has announced that it will shut down all fur farms by 2025. This is fantastic news considering Norway is home to nearly 250 farms which kill 700,000 minks and 110,000 foxes every year.

Animals trapped in the fur industry face unimaginable horrors daily. They are often kept in cramped cages where they have limited access to food, clean water, and sunshine. Their lives are cruelly cut short using cheap slaughter methods, including strangulation, suffocation, electrocution, and poisoning. This new ban will spare countless animals from this misery and unnecessary death.

Norway now joins Croatia, the Czech Republic, Japan, and Slovenia in the growing list of countries banning fur farming. Sign this petition to show your support of Norway’s new ban.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Prime Minister Solberg,

Norway recently announced that it will be shutting down all fur farms by 2025. This is amazing news for the countless animals trapped within in the fur industry.

As you are aware, Norway is home to nearly 250 farms which annually kill hundreds of thousands of minks and foxes. Thankfully, Norway will be phasing out and ending this cruel practice. This will spare an innumerable amount of animals from unnecessary pain and death.

Thank you for taking the initiative and becoming the first Nordic country to ban fur farming. It is inspiring to see Norway join Croatia, the Czech Republic, Slovenia, Macedonia, and the Netherlands in the fight against fur.

Sincerely,

  1. Why wait until 2025? Do you know how many innocent animals will die between now and then? It is unacceptable and cruel. What is the point of waiting? Stop fur farming NOW!

You are a greater nation today, Norway, because of your thoughtful and humane plans to shut down fur farms by 2025 but as the previous respondent asked, WHY WAIT UNTIL 2025?

    • So that they can later OVERTURN the decision.France did this recently with another short lived animal rights victory

  3. D. Farrimond says:

JUST DO IT NOW (you may be able to sleep again at night)

  4. Maria Nowicki says:

Why all the praise? Why wait another 7 years so that
countless animals continue to suffer? This is not good enough!

    • Norwegian politicians are sneaky here….they are buying time imho because of pressure from animal rights groups. This looks like a farce.

  5. By 2025 ? What if there is a new government in place later that overturns this decision ? We all know how fickle politicians are after all. They should do it NOW. I smell cynical PR at work here. Norway should not be let off the hook.
