Remove Anti-Gay Activist from School Anti-Bullying Force

Target: Anoka-Hennepin School District Board Chair Tom Heidemann

Goal: Remove Anti-Gay Activist Brian Lindquist from Anti-Bullying Task Force

Recently, anti-gay activist Brian Lindquist was appointed to a Minnesota school district anti-bullying task force. This is a controversial move, because many of Lindquist’s activism tactics are a form of bullying. He has said that he views homosexuality as a disorder. His clearly homophobic actions do not have a place on a force to stop bullying.

Lindquist is a member of the Parents Action League, which is a homophobic hate group. In March 2012, the Parents Action League demanded schools distribute information to students and staff about ‘curing’ homosexuality. At the time, the school board was adamantly against this idea. Now, Lindquist has joined the anti-bullying task force while still opposing equality. His record has shown he does not approve of equality and protection from bullying for all students, and as such, he has no business being on an anti-bullying task force.

This school district has had a number of teen suicides in recent years. Many of these unfortunate teens were reportedly bulled for their sexual orientation. The area has been deemed a ‘suicide contagion’ by Minnesota officials. School officials have recognized the need for a stand against bullying, but have also undermined their efforts by appointing the homophobic Lindquist to the anti-bullying task force. Demand his removal from the force immediately.

Dear Mr. Heidemann:

Recently, Brian Lindquist was appointed to the Anoka-Hennepin district anti-bullying task force. Lindquist is an outspoken anti-gay activist with a history of homophobic statements. He has claimed homosexuality is a disorder. Lindquist is also a member of the Parents Action League, which has demanded the school district distribute information on gay conversion therapy.

I ask you to remove Brian Lindquist from the anti-bullying task force. His past homophobic actions are a form of bullying. He does not support equality and protection from bullying for all students. His being on the task force will undermine the efforts to protect the students. Remove Lindquist from the anti-bullying task force immediately.
