End Destructive and Deadly Deforestation

Target: Agha Siraj Khan Durrani, Speaker of the Sindh Assembly

Goal: End the destructive and deadly clearing of a Pakistani forest.

Deforestation is destroying areas of forest in Sindh, Pakistan. Along with eliminating homes for endangered species and depleting natural resources, this deforestation can have catastrophic consequences in terms of climate change.

If climate change continues, floods, cyclones, heat waves, and other natural disasters will worsen. Lives will be lost, the economy will be devastated, and the environment will be destroyed.

Currently, forest cover is only two percent in Sindh. Demand that the government of Sindh do what it can to increase forest cover and prevent these catastrophic events. Sign the petition to demand that the forest and the people of Pakistan be protected.

Dear Speaker Durrani,

Forest cover in your province is down to only two percent. Horrific events may arise from the lack of forest, including natural disasters that will only worsen your area’s economy and lead to a terrible loss of life.

More must be done to protect and add to the forest that remains. Forest cover should be increased. I demand that you and your government take steps to protect the environment and the people of your province by ending deforestation.
