Punish Home Aide Who Allegedly Fatally Injured Elderly Man’s Dog

Target: Joel E. Abelove, District Attorney for Rensselaer County, New York

Goal: Demand that the home health aide who allegedly kicked her client’s dog so brutally that the dog had to be euthanized receive the maximum penalty by law.

A dog died after she was allegedly kicked by a home health aide. The dog’s owner, an elderly homebound man, is devastated by the loss of his best friend. Demand justice for this poor dog.

The elderly man’s family knew that something was wrong with Mya, a 13-year-old Shih-Tzu, when they noticed bruising and discoloration on her abdomen. A trip to the veterinarian confirmed that Mya had suffered a fatal injury, which led to her being euthanized. The man’s family claimed that Mya was fine just the day before and that her injuries must have occurred that night. Following an investigation, Troy detectives reported that Gloria Carmona, the nighttime home health aide, kicked Mya and caused her death.

Police have arrested Carmona and charged her with felony aggravated animal cruelty. Sign below and demand that Carmona receive the maximum penalty by law, if convicted.

Dear District Attorney Abelove,

A dog suffered bruising and internal injuries after she was allegedly kicked in the abdomen by a home health aide. The dog had to be euthanized due to the severity of her injuries. We demand justice for this innocent dog.

Police charged Gloria Carmona with felony aggravated animal cruelty after she allegedly kicked a small dog in the abdomen. The dog, a Shih-Tzu named Mya, reportedly suffered bruising and discoloration on her abdomen and was generally unwell shortly before her death. Carmona worked as a home health aide to Mya’s owner, an elderly homebound man, and allegedly kicked the dog the evening before her death. Mya’s owner is heartbroken over the loss of his best friend.

This horrific cruelty must be punished. We demand that you seek the maximum penalty in this case.

This home care service must be thoroughly investigated as well. What kind of people are they hiring. DO THEY DO BACKGROUND CHECKS ON THEM? This person must also be unable to work with elderly or infants as well as be around or employed in any home there is an animal. If she kicked a small dog that hard wonder what she does to the elderly?
