Applaud Punishment of Hollywood Animal Handler

Target: Sonny Perdue, Head of USDA

Goal: Praise the USDA for revoking license of handler accused of beating animals and feeding them contaminated food.

After years of alleged abuse and neglect, Hollywood animal exhibitor Sidney Yost has had his animal handling license revoked by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).

Public records indicate that Yost racked up over 40 violations against the Animal Welfare Act (AWA) in just two years. In addition, the USDA stated that Yost and his employees used and threatened beatings with wooden canes far too often. Yost was notorious for allegedly beating his animals and feeding them contaminated food.

Sign this petition and praise the USDA for revoking Yost’s license. Far too often, animals are exploited for profit while the handlers face no repercussions.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Mr. Perdue,

One of Hollywood’s biggest animal exhibitors, Sidney Yost, recently lost his license after too many violations against the Animal Welfare Act (AWA). I was ecstatic to hear this news. Many handlers exploit their animals with no repercussions; it is time to put an end to that.

Yost had a notorious reputation for abusing his animals. The USDA stated Yost racked up over 40 violations against the AWA in just two years, including for beating his animals with a wooden cane, not providing sufficient barriers between the animals and the people, and allowing the public to touch the animals. In addition, it is widely believed that Yost fed his animals contaminated food.

Thank you for revoking this man’s license. It seems clear that he did not truly care for his animals. I hope you continue to fight for those who cannot speak for themselves.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]

Thank you for finally stopping this heinous injustice.
Baha’i Writings ~ “To the blessed animals, however, the utmost kindness should be exercised: the more the better it will be. The physical sensibilities and instincts are common to animal and man.
Man is, however, negligent of this reality and imagines that sensibility is peculiar to mankind; therefore he practices cruelty to the animal….. Man is generally sinful and the animal is innocent. Educate the children in their infancy in such a way that they may become exceedingly kind and merciful to the animals…

    Dear Mr. Perdue,
Continue the good work – thank you in the name of those poor and innocent creatures’ subject to ‘human beasts’ …

  4. Carol Green says:

Okay, uh, thanks. But why did it take so damned long? I found stories going back at least 12 years about him being fined and/or animals taken away due to neglect and abuse.

  5. I think I speak for many when I jump up and cheer “Kudos!! Hurrah hurrah!!!”

  6. Anyone who cares, at all, for the welfare of animals has to be glad for the revocation of the animal handling license of Sidney Yost. He was a sadistic monster!

Finally, someone at USDA did something positive for animals!
It was a good decision by Mr. Perdue, and I hope he continues to be, sincerely, concerned about animal welfare.

As many others are wondering–Why so long? Over 40 animal cruelty violations in just 2 years?–a real sadist!
I hope Sonny Perdue continues to care about and protect helpless innocent animals.

  10. Kae Blecha, OTR says:

Not signed. How many petitions have we signed to basically urge the USDA to do its job? It sat on its hands for years, while it took just one animal control officer in Alabama to step forward for Nosey the elephant a couple months ago. I’m glad they took this jerk’s license away, but this case is a fluke.

  13. Carol Green says:

Thank the USDA, my ass! They let this go on for YEARS, and now that they have finally done what they should have done from the beginning you think they deserve all that praise? Not only does the USDA not get a pat on the back from me, but I demand that Sidney Yost receive a proper punishment for everything he’s done to all the animals he’s had in his dubious care going back to the beginning of his reign of terror and abuse.

  14. Now I would love to see this bloody bastard working on a chain-gang for the next 30 years!
