Use Fossil Fuel Revenues to Save Endangered Species

Target: Rep. Rob Bishop, Chair of the House Committee on Natural Resources

Goal: Force oil and natural gas companies to fund the conservation of our endangered species and habitats.

Thousands of endangered species may soon be protected. A bill in Congress, if passed, would allow states across the country to receive tens of millions of dollars annually for the protection of endangered species. Known as the Recovering America’s Wildlife Act, this legislation will give $1.3 billion to state conservation efforts.

This money will come from revenue made by the oil and gas industries, therefore making these corporations pay for the damage they have caused. Tens thousands of endangered species, from Alaska to Maine, will benefit.

This bill must pass. Currently, it sits in the House of Representatives. Sign the petition to demand that congressmen and women hold oil and gas companies responsible and take a stand in protecting our nation’s many endangered species.

Dear Rep. Bishop,

Tens of thousands of endangered species may be saved if congress approves the Recovering America’s Wildlife Act. More than $1.3 billion will be taken from the oil and gas industries and used to aid states in conservation efforts.

Oil and gas industries have been responsible for much of the danger our environment and the species it is home to face. It is only right that these industries now help rebuild from the damage they have caused. I ask that you and your fellow congressmen and women pass this legislation.

  1. Why, that’s a wonderful idea! It we must destroy the environment through fossil fuel and ourselves eventually, let’s at least protect innocent creatures from extinction.

    Please, let’s hope they listen!

  4. Gen Agustsson says:

there is no such thing as fossil fuel except there are such thing as oil and gas. ban oil and gas in order to be held accountable.

  5. Oil and gas are dated. Let’s think progressive. These companies should put money into research for alternative, earth-friendly products. However, it seems immediate greed does not allow progressiveness.
