Man Accused of Shooting Family Dog Execution Style at Mall Must be Jailed

Target: Ken Cotter, Prosecutor, 60th Judicial Circuit (St. Joseph County), Indiana
Goal: Punish man accused of shooting family pet execution style at local mall.

Blood stains remain in the snow at the mall where a family’s dog was shot between the eyes, execution style, reportedly by a man who objected to the dog being off leash. The man accused of this horrific execution is free on bail and must not be allowed to escape punishment if found guilty.

According to reports, the dog named Major, escaped from his owner at the mall and was running around the parking lot with his leash dragging behind him. The dog was quickly retrieved by his owner, who proceeded to sit down with the dog on a bench. At this point, the reported shooter, Jon Hanley, 52, pulled out a handgun, walked up to the dog and his owner and fired a single shot into the animal. The dog dropped to the ground while the owner screamed out in terror.

Fortunately, a police officer in the vicinity rushed to the dog’s aid and transported Major to a veterinary hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery. Major is currently clinging to life with an uncertain future, while the accused shooter is out on bail, free to do whatever he wishes. Sign this petition to demand that the man accused of shooting this innocent dog between the eyes have his bail revoked and that he is prosecuted fully.

Dear Prosecutor Cotter,

A man in your jurisdiction has been accused of shooting a family’s pet, execution style, at a local mall. Apparently, the man objected to the dog escaping from his owner and decided to execute the poor animal. Reports indicate that the dog was under control when he was shot.

Fortunately, a local law enforcement officer rushed to the scene and transported the dog to the veterinary hospital. The accused shooter, Jon Hanley, was apparently arrested but then released on bail. If it is true that this man attempted to kill this dog, execution style at the mall, he has no business walking free. He must be re-arrested, have his bail denied, and be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

What’s wrong with society, that moron could have shot the man sitting on the bench, and would most likely have gone to prison. However ,because he shot the dog, he’s out on bail !,,he’s a murderer, whichever way you look at it. He’s armed and dangerous, in a park where children, so it was with intent. The bloody law is an Ass.

  2. What rights this evil man John Hanley had to shoot some one else’s pooch. This man is Mentally deranged and need to be very careful about the entire society around him. He can be Violent and vicious any given time and can shoot and kill any one at any time. If the Judge is allowing him to roam the streets freely, then some one must check out of this so called Judge, what is the theory he/she is following to let a Criminal minded venomous individual to go free. THIS JOHN HANLEY IS A MURDERER. HE IS CRIMINAL AND SHOULD BE LOCKED UP IN A JAIL CELL…instead allowing him to walk on streets where other Civilians are being put in Danger.

  4. Jon Hanley is am evil psychotic. He is a danger to ALL living beings, and should NOT be out on bail.

For NO reason, he shot a mans’ pet dog–between the eyes. Hanley should NOT be allowed to carry a gun. I don’t feel safe with a known deranged armed and dangerous killer roaming the streets.

The poor dog, may or may not survive–but the dog did nothing but get detached from his leash. Anyone that would execute an innocent animal could easily shoot more helpless animals, including the human kind.

Jon Hanley should be in jail–off the street, away from other potential victims. Why is he out on bail?! Is he still armed with a gun?!

This is an atrocious act of inhumane behavior.
How could this individual be allowed to roam freely after his inexcusable actions? He needs to be held accountable.
What is the reason for him to have brought a weapon into the mall in the first place? Because it is his constitutional right to own one ? Maybe, but it does not give him the right to shoot an animal for any reason. The proximity in which he shot the dog could have killed the owner as well. I agree, he needs to be re-arrested, denied bail, be prosecuted to the fullest extent. Lilypearl
