“It had numerous untreated open sores in various stages of healing, so not all happened at the same time,” stated Chief Roy Gross of the Suffolk County SPCA. The SPCA reportedly found Leroy, a one-year-old pit bull, severely emaciated and covered in open sores. Authorities claimed that Leroy’s owner, Shannon King, failed to provide adequate, food, water, and veterinary care for the sick dog over an extended period of time.

Leroy was taken to a veterinary clinic for treatment. King has been charged with misdemeanor animal cruelty and released on the condition that she not possess any animals. Sign below and demand that King receive the maximum penalty by law, if convicted.

Dear Chief Assistant District Attorney Constant,

A dog reportedly suffered when he was allegedly starved and denied veterinary care. Untreated sores reportedly covered the emaciated dog’s body. We demand justice for this innocent dog.

The Suffolk County SPCA charged Shannon King with misdemeanor animal cruelty after she allegedly neglected to provide food, water, and veterinary care for her dog. The dog, a one-year-old pit bull named Leroy, was reportedly covered in open sores and severely emaciated. Authorities claimed that the sores were in various stages of healing, which indicated that he had been mistreated for an extended period of time. Leroy was taken to a veterinary clinic for treatment. King could face up to one year in jail and a fine, if convicted.

This abuse cannot go unpunished. We demand that you seek the maximum penalty in this case.
