Praise Ban on Using Cruel Bullhooks on Elephants

Target: Bruce Kraus, President of Pittsburg City Council

Goal: Praise Pittsburgh for banning bullhooks, cruel and painful training tools used on elephants.

Bullhooks are long sticks with metal pokers at the end that are commonly used on elephants in the entertainment industry. They are typically used as a training tool to inflict fear and pain to force elephants to perform tricks.

Thankfully, the public is becoming more and more aware of how cruel bullhooks are and the horrors elephants trapped in the entertainment industry face. Due to this, many places are banning bullhooks including California, Rhode Island, and Austin, Texas. Thankfully, Pittsburgh is joining these places in the fight against these barbaric tools.

Dear Mr. Kraus,

It recently came to my attention that Pittsburgh’s city council decided to ban bullhooks. I was ecstatic to hear this news.

As you are aware, bullhooks are common training tools that use pain to coerce elephants into performing tricks. It is heartwarming to see people taking a stand and protecting those who cannot speak for themselves.

Thank you taking the well-being of these animals seriously and banning bullhooks in Pittsburgh. Now, your city joins many others in the fight against bullhooks. Hopefully, more cities will be inspired by your initiatives and follow in your footsteps.

  1. This is only one step forward – the next step should be to ban completely the exploitation of Elephants for Entertainment in Circuses, Tourism or any other branches. These animals deserve to roam free in their natural habitat!!!

  2. Thank you Mr Kraus for helping the elephants. Please could you help to create a large Reserve with trees and bushes for them to roam in so that they are not exploited, please, on behalf of the animals, please could you do this?

  3. About time Thankyou for thinking of animals

  4. Thank you! Next step please: send all elephants and animals from the entertainment industry to a reputable sanctuary!
