Fifteen Dogs Allegedly Neglected and Denied Medical Care Deserve Justice

Target: Stephen A. Zappala Jr., District Attorney for Allegheny County, Pennsylvania

Goal: Demand that the people who allegedly neglected fifteen dogs and multiple smaller animals receive the maximum penalty by law.

Fifteen dogs and several smaller animals were allegedly neglected and denied necessary medical care in a shocking case of animal cruelty. Many of the dogs were reportedly too weak to stand and one had a neck wound due to an embedded collar. We must demand justice for these innocent animals.

Police raided the home belonging to Robert and Hope Sia after they received a complaint of dogs living in deplorable conditions. Inside the home, police reportedly found 15 dogs, two snakes, a bearded dragon, a ferret and a hedgehog, all in various stages of neglect. Per the humane officer, the dogs suffered from flea infestation, Lyme disease, tape worms, skin infections, and one was pregnant. The dogs were reportedly stuffed into crates so small that they were unable to stand and they had no access to water.

The animals were taken to the Griffin Pond Animal Shelter for treatment. Robert and Hope Sia have each been charged with three misdemeanor counts of cruelty to animals and 17 misdemeanor counts of neglect of animals. Sign below and demand that Robert and Hope Sia receive the maximum penalty by law, if convicted.

Dear District Attorney Zappala,

Fifteen dogs and five smaller animals were allegedly kept in deplorable conditions in a shocking case of animal cruelty. A large tumor reportedly grew untreated on one dog’s leg and another had a neck wound due to an embedded collar. We demand justice for these poor animals.

Police charged Robert and Hope Sia with three counts of cruelty to animals and 17 counts of neglect to animals after raiding their Scott Township home. Per authorities, the dogs suffered from multiple ailments including Lyme disease, flea infestation, tape worms, and skin infections. One of the dogs was reportedly pregnant and several were stuffed into crates so small that they could not stand. Two snakes, a bearded dragon, a ferret, and a hedgehog were also found in the home.

This horrific neglect cannot go unpunished. We demand that you seek the maximum penalty in this case.

  1. Lock up their sorry ass is a small cage, weight it down, drop in the middle of the lake for fish food.

  2. Margaret Melnick says:

These acts of cruelty should automatically be a felony charge. LAWS MUST BE CHANGED.

  3. The best punishment to stop this horrific abuse and cruelty is whatever they do to the animals, must be done to them!

  4. I’ll never understand why people do the things they do to animals when they don’t even care about them. Having a pet is just like having a kid. If you don’t like animals then DONT ACQUIRE ONE! If you can’t afford animals then DONT GET ANY! It doesn’t take a genius to figure this out, but then again – only highly unintelligent humans abuse animals! Those two need to learn how to treat animals! With some luck hopefully they’ll both go to prison (but I doubt it considering those cruelty charges are only misdemeanor charges) and their cellmate will teach them..animal loving cellmates.
