Dog Allegedly Thrown to the Ground and Beaten Deserves Justice

Target: Jaime Esparza, District Attorney for El Paso County, Texas

Goal: Demand that the man who allegedly beat his dog and threw the poor animal onto the ground receive the maximum penalty by law.

A dog was allegedly thrown to the ground and beaten in a shocking case of animal cruelty. A cell phone video, recorded by a witness, reportedly showed a man physically assaulting the dog. Demand justice for this innocent dog.

Detectives with El Paso’s newly formed Animal Cruelty Investigative Unit arrested 29-year-old Joshua Mitsumatsu after he allegedly physically assaulted his dog. A video reportedly showed Mitsumatsu lifting Tali, a one-and-a-half-year-old shepherd mix, to shoulder level and then slamming him onto the ground. Per a witness, Mitsumatsu then violently beat Tali. The witness reported the incident and detectives responded to the scene, saving Tali from serious harm.

Tali is now in the custody of Law and Paws, a non-profit organization that provides foster care for pets in abusive households. Mitsumatsu was charged with cruelty to non-livestock animals and he has been booked in the El Paso County Detention Facility on a $3,500 bond. Sign below and demand that Mitsumatsu receive the maximum penalty by law, if convicted.

Dear District Attorney Esparza,

A dog suffered when he was reportedly beaten and thrown to the ground. A witness captured a video of the alleged abuse on a cell phone. We demand justice for this poor dog.

Detectives with El Paso’s Animal Cruelty Investigative Unit charged 29-year-old Joshua Mitsumatsu with cruelty to non-livestock animals after he allegedly beat his dog. Shocking video footage reportedly showed Mitsumatsu lifting his dog, Tali, up to shoulder level and then slamming the poor dog onto the ground. Per authorities, Mitsumatsu then beat the one-and-a-half-year-old shepherd mix until a witness called for help. Detectives arrived in time to save Tali from serious harm, and Mitsumatsu has been arrested.

This horrific cruelty must be punished. We demand that you seek the maximum penalty in this case.
