Target: Jack Campbell, State Attorney for Leon County, Florida
Goal: Demand that the athlete who allegedly abused, starved, and denied veterinary care to his dog receive the maximum penalty by law.
A dog was allegedly starved and beaten in a shocking case of animal cruelty. Per veterinarians, the dog was severely emaciated and could barely walk on his hind legs. Demand justice for this innocent dog.
Tallahassee Police arrested Hubert “Chris” Maxwell, a former two-time All-American track and field athlete, after he allegedly beat and starved his dog. Per veterinarians, the emaciated pit bull mix suffered from lameness to his back legs and a severe flea infestation, causing him to lose chunks of his fur. Maxwell’s former roommate reportedly witnessed Maxwell swing the dog around by his collar, slam him into the wall and floor, kick him, and then step on his neck. Maxwell denied ownership of the pit bull mix and one other dog, stating that one dog had run away after being disciplined for urinating on the floor. He offered no explanation for the other dog’s absence.
The dog is currently residing at the veterinarian’s office, where he is slowly recovering. Maxwell has been charged with felony animal cruelty or neglect. He remains in the Leon County Jail on a $10,000 bond. Sign below and demand that Maxwell receive the maximum penalty by law, if convicted.
PETITION LETTER:
Dear State Attorney Campbell,
A dog suffered terribly when he was allegedly beaten and starved. Per a witness, the suspect beat, choked, kicked, and stepped on the dog. We demand justice for this innocent dog.
Tallahassee Police charged Hubert “Chris” Maxwell with animal cruelty after he allegedly beat and starved a pit bull mix. Per veterinarians, the dog was severely emaciated, infested with fleas, and losing chunks of his hair. His hind legs were reportedly lame and unable to support his weight for very long. Maxwell denied ownership of the dog. However, Maxwell’s roommate told police that he witnessed Maxwell choking, kicking, and slamming the dog against the wall and floor. The dog is recovering at a veterinary clinic. Maxwell is residing in the Leon County Jail on a $10,000 bond.
This horrific abuse must be punished. We demand that you seek the maximum penalty in this case.
Sincerely,
[Your Name Here]

Why is the bond only $10,000? this is too low. I hope he would sit in jail for the full 5 years. I also hope his name would be recognized and remember as an animal abuser like Michael Vic.
just because he was once a star athlete means this is all the punishment he gets give me a break put him away and let everyone know what his name is and what he did and don’t let him near another animal
Another POS who requires instigation of the death penalty.Payback is required when least expected!
This idiot needs the same and more done to him and his roommate who did nothing to report this crime!
