Keep the Internet Free and Open for All

Target: Ajit Pai, Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chairman

Goal: Don’t eliminate the FCC net neutrality laws and keep the internet free for all.

The internet may soon be restricted for various users and content providers. The Trump administration’s FCC is set to roll back net neutrality regulations put in place in 2015. These regulations have prevented extortion on the part of broadband service providers and have kept the internet accessible for all users.

If the net neutrality laws are rolled back, internet service providers will be given considerably more power and free reign. Before net neutrality was in place, extortion was common, internet was intentionally slowed for competitors, and some sites were completely blocked. Should the regulations be eliminated, all of this and much more will happen again.

The internet and its wealth of information must be kept free and open. Companies should not have the power to dictate what people see online. This will lead our nation down a very slippery and dangerous slope. Sign the petition and demand that the FCC not roll back its regulations.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Chairman Pai,

The internet has long been an accessible and open source of information for hundreds of millions of people. However, should the FCC roll back President Obama’s net neutrality regulations, the internet will no longer be free. It will be expensive, slow, and censored.

I demand that you keep the internet open for all. Don’t roll back regulations. Don’t allow companies to profit off the censorship of American citizens.

Sincerely,
