Don’t Hike Fees for Popular National Parks

Target: Ryan Zinke, Secretary of the Interior

Goal: Don’t limit accessibility to our nation’s national parks.

The federal government will restrict access to the nation’s most popular national parks by imposing a steep fee hike. Rocky Mountain National Park, one of the most visited national parks in the country, is set to see entrance fees increase by $50.

The consequences of this fee hike will be seen in both the parks and the towns nearby. A higher fee will dissuade visitors, thus potentially leading to job loss and less funding. In addition, nearby towns will lose valuable tourism dollars.

Increasing the fees charged for access to our national parks will not help them, but hurt them. This will limit their accessibility and defeat the long established purpose of national parks: to make our nation’s beautiful sites and history available to all. Sign the petition to demand that the fee hike not be implemented.

Dear Secretary Zinke,

Fees are set to increase substantially at national parks across the nation, including Rocky Mountain National Park. These fee hikes will severely limit the accessibility of our nation’s national parks. They’ll lead to less tourism, decreased funding, and job loss.

The government has the money to fund our national parks without burdening the citizens who should benefit from them. I demand that the national park fee hike not be implemented so that national parks can remain open and accessible for all.

  1. Hiking fees = losing visitors and revenue. Elitists just don’t get it that there are many more people with a lower income than there are those with enough income that wouldn’t be phased by a higher fee.

  2. Gen Lovyet Agustsson says:

thats not fair! we need to hike for free. parking fees, don’t know what to say.
