Thank Humanitarian Organization for Hurricane Sandy Relief Work

Target: Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) Volunteers

Goal: Thank volunteers for their aid to New York victims of Hurricane Sandy

Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international relief aid organization that usually helps out in third world countries where catastrophes have struck. When superstorm Hurricane Sandy ravaged the East Coast in the United States, MSF volunteers helped out in their first U.S. mission ever. Thank MSF volunteers for their time and relief efforts to victims of Hurricane Sandy.

MSF is a highly respected and well-known international medical humanitarian group. Started in the 1970s by doctors and journalists in France, it has provided assistance to more than 60 countries. Teams of doctors, nurses, logistics experts, administrators, epidemiologists, laboratory technicians, and mental health professionals assist people whose lives have been affected by malnutrition, wars, epidemics, exclusion from health care, or natural disasters. The recent massive hurricane dubbed “Sandy” that struck the United States East Coast was not a natural disaster that MSF was unfamiliar with, but its location was. This was MSF’s first time helping out on U.S. soil.

Hurricane Sandy hit the northeastern United States on October 29th, causing flooding in New York streets, tunnels and subway lines. It also cut out power for millions of residents. It was the largest Atlantic hurricane on record. Because of the flooding and power outages, many were unable to get access to adequate medical care. MSF volunteers stepped right in and provided free medical evaluations, picked up prescriptions for residents, set up makeshift clinics in various locations, and even provided home visits addressing medical needs and concerns.

MSF volunteers worked tirelessly to help out victims ravaged by Hurricane Sandy. These selfless volunteers deserve a “thank you” for their efforts and kindness. Please sign the petition thanking them for their care and treatment of Hurricane Sandy victims.

Dear Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières Volunteers,

Thank you for all of your tireless efforts to help victims of Hurricane Sandy in New York. Many were devastated by the superstorm’s destruction and suffered because of lack of access to adequate medical care, but you stepped in and were able to address residents’ medical needs.

Your selfless work in New York is much appreciated and has helped many people to recover from this difficult tragedy. Hurricane Sandy wiped out people’s homes and belongings and left many parts of New York without power, rendering them helpless. Your aid during this time was crucial and invaluable to victims. Thank you for your commitment and care and willingness to help.
