Dogs Allegedly Confined to Hazardous Trailers Without Water Deserve Justice

Target: Mark Lindquist, Prosecuting Attorney for Pierce County, Washington

Goal: Demand that the woman who allegedly locked ten dogs in hazardous trailers without access to water receive the maximum penalty by law.

Ten dogs suffered when they were allegedly confined to garbage-filled trailers without water. The dogs were reportedly emaciated and suffered from multiple illnesses. Demand justice for these innocent dogs.

Animal Control officers visited a Pierce County property for the second time after a 55-year-old woman allegedly neglected to care for her dogs. Per officers, three huskies were confined to a mobile home that had two 4×4 fence posts pushed against the door to keep it closed and exposed wiring inside. The dogs reportedly had no access to water and licked the condensation off the windows to quench their thirst. Seven more emaciated dogs were reportedly found inside of two RV’s and a travel trailer. A veterinarian confirmed that all 10 dogs suffered from a parasite, and that one dog had a neck injury due to the skin growing over the dog’s collar.

Animal Control took custody of the dogs, and they are recovering. The woman, whose name is currently unreported, was charged with two counts of first-degree animal cruelty and two counts of second-degree animal cruelty. Sign below and demand that the woman receive the maximum penalty by law, if convicted.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Prosecutor Lindquist,

Ten dogs suffered and could have died when they were allegedly confined to trailers without water. The dogs were reportedly emaciated and lived amongst filth and dangerously exposed wiring. We demand justice for these poor dogs.

Pierce County police charged a 55-year-old woman with animal cruelty after she allegedly kept 10 dogs on her property without access to water. The dogs were reportedly so thirsty that they licked the condensation from the windows, and they all reportedly suffered from a parasite. Per the veterinarian, one dog developed a neck wound after the dog’s skin grew over an embedded collar, and another required surgery for an untreated eye injury. The woman, who is currently unnamed, has been labeled a “habitual violator,” meaning that she has committed four or more infractions.

This horrific neglect must be punished. We demand that you seek the maximum penalty in this case.

Sincerely,
