Nineteen Animals Who Died Due to Alleged Neglect Deserve Justice

Target: Thomas M. Quinn III, District Attorney for Bristol County, Massachusetts

Goal: Demand that the woman who allegedly neglected over 30 animals, leading to the death of 19, receive the maximum penalty by law.

Nineteen animals died and many more suffered when they were allegedly neglected and denied food and water. Seventeen living animals were reportedly found locked in 27 cages alongside the dead animals’ remains. Demand justice for these innocent animals.

New Bedford police visited Amanda Vicente’s home after they picked up a stray dog that they believed lived at the address. There, they reportedly found 19 dead animals and 17 neglected animals residing in 27 cages. Per officers, piles of feces littered the kitchen area and many of the living animals, including a bullmastiff, appeared emaciated and lacked food and water. The dead animals, including lizards, hamsters, cockatiels and finches, reportedly resided in Vicente’s 13-year-old son’s bedroom.

The surviving animals are being treated at a veterinary clinic and will be transferred to Forever Paws in Fall River when they are well. The child is currently residing at a relative’s home. Vincente was arrested and charged with animal cruelty and child abuse. Sign below and demand that Vincente receive the maximum penalty by law, if convicted.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear District Attorney Quinn,

Nineteen animals died and 17 more suffered when they were allegedly denied food and water. The surviving animals were reportedly crammed into 27 cages alongside the dead animals’ remains. We demand justice for these poor animals.

New Bedford police charged Amanda Vincente with animal cruelty and child abuse after they allegedly found the remains of lizards, hamsters, cockatiels, and finches in her 13-year-old son’s bedroom. The surviving animals, including a bullmastiff, were reportedly emaciated and had no access to food or water. Per officers, the home was ridden with feces and trash and was not a healthy environment for children or animals. Vincente’s son was taken to a relative’s home and the surviving animals were taken to a veterinarian for treatment.

This horrific neglect must be punished. We demand that you seek the maximum penalty in this case.

Sincerely,
