Target: Czimer’s Game & Seafood
Goal: Outlaw the sale of African lion meat by Czimer’s Game & Seafood and other similar companies
Today, there is an estimated population of 18,000-20,000 lions in the world. The actual figure is probably much lower. Companies like Czimer’s Game & Seafood hunt, kill, and sell wild animals, such as African lions, to the public. Extinction is clearly in the horizon for these poor African lions and we need to ensure that we criminalize the sales of African lion meat.
According to the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (ICUN) Red List of Threatened Species, lions are categorized as “Vulnerable” while in the West and Central Africa, these lions are listed as “Endangered.” Since the 1950s, the population has rapidly decreased and now, there is less than 80 percent fewer lions in comparison to the historic range. They have become extinct in 26 countries and can currently be found in only seven countries.
Before it’s too late, we need to stop companies, such as Czimer’s Game & Seafood, from irresponsibly killing and selling wild animals to the public. Sign the petition to stop the sale of African lion meat so that future generations will be able to witness these majestic African lions roaming on Earth and not simply as another species listed as “extinct” in their classroom textbooks.
Dear Czimer’s Game & Seafood,
The current size of the African lion community is appallingly low in relation to the historic range and population of these creatures. It is irresponsible of us to hunt and kill threatened animals when we have other ample sources of food.
If we want our future generations to see the grand diversity and beauty of Mother Nature with their own two eyes then we should preserve her and the wonderful animals that roam our land today. With only an estimated amount of 18,000-20,000 lions in the world, we should be held responsible for the future of these African lions as well as other animals that are being threatened.
These poor African lions are already listed as “Vulnerable” and “Endangered” in different zones of the world. We need to ensure that they do not fall into more dangerous categories any time soon. Please stop the killing and selling of African lions and help us protect our animals.
