A puppy was allegedly beaten with a stick and dragged down a driveway in a shocking case of animal cruelty. The puppy reportedly coughed up blood and suffered serious injuries. Demand justice for this poor puppy.

“It’s terrible. I don’t understand it. I can’t fathom someone could do that to an animal,” stated a concerned neighbor. She confronted Mark Hurd after he allegedly beat the 10-month-old pit bull puppy and then dragged him down a driveway. The puppy, named Chance by rescuers, reportedly sustained numerous serious injuries including multiple fractures, contusions, and bruises. A witness reportedly saw Hurd beating Chance with a stick and the puppy had bruises around his neck, indicating strangulation.

Everett Animal Control rescued Chance and provided him with much-needed medical care. He is recovering well. Hurd was arrested and charged with animal cruelty. Sign below and demand that Hurd receive the maximum penalty by law, if convicted.

Dear District Attorney Ryan,

A puppy suffered and nearly died when he was reportedly beaten, strangled, and dragged down a driveway. The puppy sustained multiple fractures during the alleged abuse. We demand justice for this innocent puppy.

Concerned neighbors watched in shock as Mark Hurd allegedly dragged his visibly injured 10-month-old pit bull puppy down the driveway. The puppy, named Chance by rescuers, reportedly coughed up blood and his little body was covered in bruises. A neighbor also reported that Hurd violently beat Chance with a stick on a separate occasion. Per veterinarians, the bruises on Chance’s neck indicated that he was strangled and he suffered multiple painful fractures.

This horrific abuse must be punished. We demand that you seek the maximum penalty in this case.

  2. This psychopathic, cowardly predator needs to meet some males his own size in prison; a lot of inmates won’t take kindly to this wuss who has to beat on a defensless little puppy because he’s such a big man. Give me 1 minute with this creature; I’d exterminate him – very slowly.

  3. I hope this being spends time in a place where he understand the feeling of being beaten and dragged..nasty nasty fook

Glad the puppy found a good home

  5. This coward deserves maximum penalty or he will do it again maybe a child next. Anyone who doesn’t believe he deserves the maximum penalty is just as much as an abuser as he is!

  6. Cynthia Mattera says:

Psycho…please lock him up. Im so happy that a kind person intervened and saved Chance. What a lil darlin’!

“Compassion for animals is intimately connected with goodness of character; and it may be confidently asserted that he who is cruel to animals cannot be a good man.” Authur Schopenhauer

  8. Joe Illyes Jr. says:

Is there any way to change the pic to an updated picture of Chance. The story here is correct but the dog in the picture is not Chance. I’m not sure who started this petition but I can provide new picture for Chance as we are trying to get many more signatures to provide for the courts.

    Thank you
