Nestlé Must Cut Ties with Deforestation Industry

Target:  Paul Bulcke, Chairman of Nestlé

Goal: Cut ties with companies directly impacting deforestation in Africa’s rainforests.

Nestlé, one of the world’s leading chocolate companies, is playing a substantial role in the destruction of the Ivory Coast in Africa by deforestation. The companies selling their cocoa beans to Nestlé are planting them in the West African country illegally.

Since 1960, the Ivory Coast’s rainforests have been depleted by 80 percent. Countless habitats have been lost and countless species endangered by the illegal actions in the region, actions that extend well beyond cocoa bean farming.

Nestlé has not denied its relationship with these cocoa growers. It has been slow to offer any sign of improvement. Nestlé must break its ties with cocoa growers. Sign below to tell the company it must do its part to protect the rainforest.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Mr. Bulcke,

More than 80 percent of the Ivory Coast’s rainforests have been destroyed by deforestation. One of the leading causes of this deforestation is illegal cocoa bean growth, which your company has helped sustain by purchasing beans from companies illegally farming in the area.

The rainforests of the Ivory Coast are home to countless species, all of which are threatened with extinction as their homes shrink. I ask that Nestlé cut its ties with industries and companies advancing deforestation. I ask that Nestlé help protect the rainforest.

Sincerely,

Definitely! Nestle have being stripping environments – and killing babies – for profit since about the seventies. they’re not going to stop until they’re made to stop.

      • Rachel Davies says:

Again, boycott Nestle products. Neville is correct – Nestle have been guilty for decades, despite public protest. They simply don’t care – another example of money over morals. They’ll know about it though once their profit begins to dwindle. Be strong, avoid ALL their products and send your own email directly to the CEO.

  4. Denise Devereux says:

Protect the rainforest or we, people of the world will not buy your product and will boycott supermarkets, and inform school children what you are doing. It will impact your sales, believe me.

  5. Nestle, so disappointed. Part of your company’s motto is supporting a “…good life.” I don’t understand how deforestation is helping support a “…good life.”

  6. Nestle know the problems but profits come first

  7. THAT’S IT, NESTLE… I SHALL BE SCANNING THOSE LABELS TO AVOID YOUR BRAND. NO NESTLE PRODUCTS OR CHOCOLATES FOR ME!

  8. STOP ULTIMATELY THESE ENDLESS INCONSIDERATION FOR THE WHOLE WORLD – GREED SCUM!!!

KICK ALL OF THE PERSONS RESPONSIBLE OUT OF THEIR PROFESSION AND LET THEM PAY REPARATION TO FUTURE GENERATIONS!

  10. Signed.
But they go by demand! Thus, YOU as individual can stop this by not buying into the chocolate craze!
No demand! No need to produce! No need to eliminate forests!
