PETITION LETTER:

Dear District Attorney Witt,

A cat suffered and died when the poor animal was allegedly thrown down and stomped on repeatedly. A man reportedly admitted to killing the cat, which belonged to his girlfriend, because the cat had scratched him and he was unable to get away from the cat. We demand justice for this innocent cat.

Lancaster police were called to the scene following a disturbing phone conversation between Gabriel Garcia and his girlfriend’s father. Per the father, Garcia stated that he threw his girlfriend’s cat onto the ground and “stomped its head in” after he was scratched by the animal. Garcia had reportedly been chasing the cat around the house, even though he was aware that the cat did not like being picked up. Police reportedly found the cat’s lifeless body hidden underneath a bed. Garcia was charged with one count of animal cruelty.

This horrific abuse must be punished. We demand that you seek the maximum penalty in this case.

Sincerely,

When a cat scratches you it means leave him alone! This person needs much more than anger management. He deserves the harshest penalty for animal cruelty. There is absolutely any justification for his actions. It seems more and all too often, people take their anger out on their pets or significant other’s pet. Is it they feel superior, they have power? Or do they feel an animal is insignificant? These individuals have a severe mental health
    issue.
