Nine Starving and Chained Dogs Deserve Justice

Target: Billy Joe Harrington, District Attorney for Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana

Goal: Demand that the man who allegedly abandoned nine dogs for weeks, leading to the death of four, receive the maximum penalty by law.

Nine dogs were allegedly abandoned in a home for weeks without access to food or water. Two young puppies reportedly died due to the neglect and another two had to be euthanized. Demand justice for these innocent dogs.

One Animal Control officer called it “one of the worst cases of animal abuse [he has] witnessed in Natchitoches Parish.” The search of Laurie “Bubba” Ward’s property reportedly uncovered four adult dogs and three puppies in poor condition. Per officers, two additional puppies died due to neglect, and another two were so malnourished that they had to be euthanized. Three of the dogs were allegedly chained behind the trailer, and none of the dogs had access to food or water for weeks.

The surviving puppy, named Hope, and the adult dogs are being cared for at the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center’s Animal Services Building. The Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office charged Ward with animal cruelty and issued a warrant for his arrest. Ward is still at large. Sign below and demand that Ward receive the maximum penalty by law, if convicted.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear District Attorney Harrington,

Five dogs suffered and four died after they were allegedly abandoned for weeks. The dogs reportedly had no access to food or water. We demand justice for these poor dogs.

Laurie “Bubba” Ward was charged with animal cruelty after deputies reportedly found four adult dogs and five puppies abandoned on his property. Two of the puppies had reportedly died due to neglect, and another two had to be euthanized due to severe malnutrition. Three of the adult dogs were reportedly chained behind the mobile home. Per deputies, none of the dogs had access to food or water for weeks. Ward is still at large.

This horrific neglect must be punished. We demand that you seek the maximum penalty in this case.

Sincerely,

  1. People who own more than 2 dogs at a time should be checked on 2 a month to prevent the death of mice dogs !

  2. Why isn’t he chained to the back of his truck for at least one month with no water at all?
He is a criminal and has to be incarcerated ….

  3. Anna kerruish says:

Post the name and face on an animal abuse list , slap a fine, and maybe do a little road side work with a T-shirt with big letters that read “I’M AN ANIMAL ABUSER” and never allow this person to own another animal for as long as she lives.

  4. Time after time these crimes on animals are reported but nothing seems to change with the punishment or lack of in many cases which are in creasing daily.
We must unite and protect before this behaviour is normalized!
