Demand Apology from Pastor Who Thinks NFL Players Lucky to Not Get Shot

Target: Pastor Robert Jeffress, First Baptist Church of Dallas

Goal: Apologize for claiming protesting NFL players are lucky they aren’t shot.

Conservative pastor and informal Trump administration adviser Robert Jeffress doesn’t like NFL players kneeling during the national anthem, and says they are lucky to even be alive.

“I think what these players are doing is absolutely wrong,” Jeffress recently said during a Fox & Friends segment. “These players ought to be thanking God that they live in a country where they’re not only free to earn millions of dollars every year, but they’re also free from the worry of being shot in the head for taking a knee like they would be if they were in North Korea.”

He went on by claiming the players would be executed if they lived in North Korea, and continues to stand by his remarks. “It is an absolute fact that in many countries of the world professional athletes would be imprisoned ― or worse ― for publicly opposing their nation’s anthem or disrespecting their national leaders,” he said.

The comments have sparked a wave of outrage, with critics arguing Jeffress seems to think the best way to celebrate freedom of speech is to remain silent. If you believe he should apologize for his remarks, please sign this petition.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Pastor Jeffress,

Perhaps you should spend more time being grateful for living in a free country, and less time condemning people using their free speech to take a stand against injustice. In a recent Fox & Friends segment, you claimed you oppose NFL players kneeling during the national anthem because “they’re also free from the worry of being shot in the head for taking a knee like they would be if they were in North Korea.”

Luckily, these players don’t live in North Korea, and have every right to protest injustice. Claiming these players are lucky to not be murdered by their own government isn’t just irresponsible, it’s also anti-freedom. The best thing you can do now is apologize.

Sincerely,

Exactly! They’re not in N.K, so they shouldn’t be censured by hypocritical Pharisees like you, who it seems would like the US to be MORE like NK. I’m guessing you’ve got a lot more than thirty silver dollars in your savings though, Judas.

And this statement from a man who claims he serves God! Give a break Devil.

  3. No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other; or else he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You can’t serve both God and Mammon.
